Adam Sandler’s Look at His Wife’s Film Premiere Sparks Controversy
Adam Sandler recently stepped out to the premiere of his wife’s film, Office Romance, wearing a Knicks sweatshirt and baggy pants. Sandler almost never dresses up these days, even wearing shorts and a sweatshirt to the Academy Awards. While he has become an unintentional style icon in recent years, his look at the premiere has divided people.

Sandler’s wife, Jackie, appears in the film Office Romance. She wore a black dress to the premiere, while Sandler wore an orange Knicks sweatshirt and bright blue, baggy pants. A number of people felt this was disrespectful to his wife.
“This dude is such a poser/loser,” wrote one Reddit user. “If he was actually so ‘disinterested’ as he pretends to be you would never see him in any paparazzi pics or movies. I can’t stand him.”
“I feel like it’s one thing when he’s promoting or doing his own projects but for his wife’s work you think he could throw on some khakis and a golf shirt at least lol,” added another person.
Other people aren’t impressed by his choice to dress like this in general.
“No no no you don’t get it, he’s above all that vogue bulls***, he’s elevated and sees through it,” one person wrote sarcastically. “That’s why instead of wearing a designer suit that costs more than most people’s salary, he’s wearing designer sweatpants that cost more than most people’s salary. Based king.”
Still, many people said that they doubted Jackie cared about how her husband dresses.
“Im sorry but this has been his brand for decades,” wrote one person. “Caring about Sandler wearing his stupid sweats in 2026 is a colossal waste of energy. His wife is most certainly indifferent to it.”
Others noted that this is something he’s done for years, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Sandler said he thinks it’s “funny as hell” that he’s become a style icon. He said that Jackie has always been supportive of his clothing choices.
“Even when we were young, others would say, ‘Would you put on something better than that? Your wife’s dressed so beautifully,'” Sandler told Complex. “My wife would say, ‘He’s comfortable like that. Let him do that. Leave him alone.'”
He spoke about his romance with his wife
Sandler and Jackie have been married since 2003. He believes that no matter how his life turned out, they would have found each other.
“I sometimes think about it, [if] I didn’t click that year and I did go work for my dad, what my life would be right now,” Adam said, per People. “First off, I’m thinking I’d probably still be married to my wife, Jackie. That’s destiny. Nothing stops that.”
The couple shares two children.
