Alessandra Ambrosio’s Engagement Ring Is the Hottest Style of the Moment – And for Good Reason, Says Expert
Alessandra Ambrosio recently shared images of her sparkling new engagement ring on social media. The Brazilian supermodel will marry Buck Palmer, a jewelry designer. His profession gave him an edge when he chose a ring for her. A jewelry expert shared insight into her massive new engagement ring.

Ambrosio recently shared an image of herself and Palmer embracing on a beach after their engagement.
“I’d choose you in this life and every life,” she wrote in the caption. “Here’s to forever, my love.”
Ambrosio and Palmer have been dating for two years.
“We just love life to the fullest,” Ambrosio told Us Weekly. “We love living life and spending time together and enjoying every little thing. I guess it’s the little things, sometimes, that count more. Whatever we do, we both just have this passion for life.”
A jewelry expert shared his thoughts on Alexandra Ambrosio’s engagement ring
Ambrosio followed up her initial engagement post with an image of her ring. Palmer chose a large elongated cushion-cut diamond. Roy Albers, Chief Gemological Officer at Worthy, the global recommerce leader in jewelry, diamonds and watches, said that this is a popular cut for a reason.
“It is no surprise that Alessandra’s jewelry designer fiancé went with a modern take on the classic solitaire with this piece,” he tells Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “The yellow gold bezel setting paired with an elongated cushion-cut is very on-trend right now for a few reasons.”
He explained that while the ring is large, the cut of the diamond may make it appear even bigger than it is. He shared his estimate of the ring’s price.
“Firstly, the bezel setting offers extra protection than traditional prong settings,” he said. “It also really allows the center diamond to shine. Secondly, the shape of the center diamond elongates the finger and makes the stone appear even bigger than it is. I would say that the center stone is between 5 and 7 carats and depending on the clarity and color could be worth anywhere between $125,000 and $185,000 at retail.”
She was previously engaged to another person
This is Ambrosio’s second engagement. She previously planned to marry Jamie Mazur, an entrepreneur. He popped the question in 2008, and they remained engaged for ten years before splitting in 2018.
“They [have] been trying to keep their split on the down low, but Alessandra has been out and about ready to mingle and hasn’t been taking Jamie to anything,” an insider told Us Weekly.
Ambrosio and Mazur share two children together.
