Season 2 of America’s Sweethearts premieres Wednesday, June 18 on Netflix. The seven-episode season follow the 2024-25 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish, from auditions and training camp through the NFL season.

“Slip on your boots, season 2’s coming y’all,” squad director Kelli Finglass and choreographer Judy Trammell said in a teaser for the new season released on Instagram.

Which cheerleaders are back for ‘America’s Sweethearts’ Season 2?

Netflix hasn’t revealed the full cast list for the second season of America’s Sweethearts. However, we do know that a few season 1 cheerleaders will be back. Reece Weaver shared the season 2 announcement on her Instagram Story, as did Anna Kate Sundvold. Both were rookies whose journey to making the DCC team was highlighted in season 1. Season 1 cast member Madeline Salter is also promoting the new season.

The new season of America’s Sweethearts will also likely highlight Charly Barby’s story of bouncing back from a crushing disappointment. In season 1, the aspiring cheerleader made the DCC training camp but faced heartbreak when she was cut from the squad before the NFL season started. However, she didn’t let that rejection keep her down for long. She auditioned again for the DCC and made the team for the 2024 season.

“I AM A DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADER,” she announced on Instagram in July 2024.  “Wow. I have never worked harder for something in my life & I genuinely feel that from the bottom of my heart. This has been the most rewarding, life changing & amazing challenge I have ever put my all into.”

“The journey to becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader has been the furthest thing from easy, but the best thing I’ve ever encountered,” Charly continued. “This dream has meant everything to me for so long and achieving it has been the first & last thought on my mind everyday for years. I would never change being cut last year for the world. It has brought me so many blessings and has made making the team this year the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had.”

These cheerleaders have moved on from the Dallas Cowboys

One season 1 cast member who won’t be back? Ari McClure. In season 1, she moved to Dallas to pursue her dream of making the DCC. Like Charly, she made it to training camp. But in the end, she didn’t make the squad because she was too short. Ari decided to move on from her goal of being a Cowboys cheerleader. Instead, she joined the Miami Dolphins squad, where she cheered in the 2024 season.

Season 1 star Victoria Kalina has also moved on from DCC. In the finale, Victoria – whose mom was also a Cowboys cheerleader – retired from NFL cheering after four seasons. She moved to New York City, where she’s currently teaching dance classes and auditioning.

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
