Andy Cohen Questions Trump Admin’s Official Narrative of Alex Pretti Shooting: ‘Show Us the Receipts’
The normally fun-loving Andy Cohen struck a serious tone in the January 26 episode of Watch What Happens Live.
On Monday, Cohen took a moment to address the “horrific events” that have been unfolding in Minneapolis. Over the past several weeks, agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CPB) have taken to the streets of Minnesota’s largest city, where they have killed two American citizens. Renée Good, 37, was killed by an ICE agent on January 7, sparking widespread protests. Then, on January 24, ICU nurse Alex Pretti was shot multiple times by CBP agents while attempting to assist a woman during a protest.

Pretti was “exercising his constitutional right to protest when he was murdered in broad daylight,” Cohen said. The 37-year-old was also a licensed firearm owner who was carrying a gun. Federal officials with the Trump administration have said that Pretti intended to attack CBP officers with his weapon. But video of the shooting contradicts that narrative.
“I’ve seen a lot of gaslighting on the Housewives,” the Bravo producer continued. “And that is all fun and games. But we need to believe what we’re seeing with our own eyes. Our government is allowing anonymous masked agents to execute its own citizens and then lying about it.”
Cohen also questioned claims that “paid protestors” were stirring up trouble in the Twin Cities.
“If these were paid protestors as we’re being told, show us the receipts. Even one receipt,” he said.
“This issue is not left versus right,” Cohen continued. “This isn’t even about immigration reform, which the nation wants. We all have to decide if we want to live in a society in which our government kills citizens and then tells us not to believe what we are seeing with our own eyes. And I know that that is not the America that I believe in, or any of us want.”
