Andy Cohen Declares This ‘RHOSLC’ Moment One of the Best in Bravo History
From table flips to literal binders of receipts, The Real Housewives franchise has delivered plenty of iconic moments over the years. But one dramatic scene stands out for executive producer Andy Cohen.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, the Watch What Happens Live host said the moment that Monica Garcia was exposed as the mastermind behind a troll Instagram account will go down as one of the best in Bravo history.
Reality Von Tease reveal rocked ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ cast
Bombshell revelations are par for the course on Housewives shows. But the season 4 finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City delivered truly earth-shattering news about one of the show’s cast members.
During a cast trip to Bermuda, Heather Gay shared that she’d finally discovered the truth about the Reality Von Tease Instagram account.
“Monica is not who she says she is,” Heather told the other cast members during a dramatic beach convo. “She’s not our friend. She’s someone [who] has schemed and worked to infiltrate our friend group.”
Heather’s diligent sleuthing led to the conclusion that Monica – who had been an employee of incarcerated Housewife Jen Shah before joining the show in her own right – had been slamming Shah and the rest of the ladies online for years.
“Receipts! Proof! Timeline! Screenshots! F*cking everything,” Heather said as she confronted the no-longer-anonymous author of the scathing posts.
Heather Gay says Monica Garcia drama brought the cast closer together
For her part, Monica said she just wanted to expose Jen and that she was not the only person who posted to the account. The rest of the cast wasn’t having it, viewing her as a traitor who’d schemed her way onto the show. Monica didn’t return for RHOSLC Season 5, and the other ladies seemingly moved on. But the shocking twist remains one of the most unforgettable Housewives moments, Cohen said.
“[It’s] one of the best single episodes of television in Bravo history,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Heather says that Monica’s betrayal brought the rest of the cast closer together.
“I think [the unmasking of Reality Von Tease] in Bermuda was bonding,” she said. “We really felt for each other in that moment.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
