Since Josh Duggar’s December 2021 conviction for possessing child sexual abuse material and his 12‑year prison sentence, his wife, Anna Duggar, has largely kept a quiet, steadfast presence. Anna publicly wears her wedding ring and chooses not to divorce despite immense public scrutiny. In December 2024, she made her first public appearance in nearly two years, appearing on the Arkansas‑based Duggar compound accompanied by several of her seven children. Most recently, she was spotted in Florida with her sisters — and she debuted a major hair change. Here’s why the shift could be significant.

Anna Duggar debuted a dramatic hair change on Instagram

Since Josh Duggar’s imprisonment, Anna Duggar has quietly built a new chapter around her family in Arkansas. She and her seven kids are said to still live on land owned by her in-laws. And she continues to homeschool her children while also participating in the local community. Sources told The U.S. Sun that she regularly watches her sons’ basketball games and has made friendships with other parents. In addition, she has made regular visits to Josh in prison despite the more than 300‑mile distance, showing a continued effort to maintain their family bond.

In November 2025, Anna made waves when she appeared in an Instagram post for Hilltop Nutrition, a health and nutrition business in Florida. According to E! News, her sisters, Priscilla Waller, Susanna Keller, and Rebekah Hunt, appeared in the photo with her.

“Fueled by tea and sister love. Happy Monday, friends!” the caption of the post reads as the sisters hold their Hilltop Nutrition teas.

Most notably, Anna’s freshly dyed blond hair garnered attention. The mom recently lightened her brunette locks for a brighter look. And followers noticed.

“Anna, you look absolutely beautiful,” an Instagram user commented.

“Anna. You are absolutely beautiful,” another user wrote. “Rocking that blonde. You go girl.”

Could Josh Duggar’s wife’s new look signify a fresh start?

Anna Duggar’s new hair in the Hilltop Nutrition post might have Duggar family followers wondering whether she’s looking for a fresh start. Josh Duggar still has several years left of his prison sentence, and many of her followers have questioned why she doesn’t divorce him. Currently, there’s no indication that Anna is looking to serve Josh divorce papers. However, her new hair and trip to Florida off the Duggar family compound might signify a change — or at least the hope that she can find more autonomy in Josh’s absence.

“I barely recognized her, which was probably why she went blonde tbh,” one family follower commented on Reddit.

“I will say she’s looking better these days, going to ball games, hanging with her more worldly sisters, letting her teens wear short shorts, and living in a nice house,” another Reddit user pointed out, suggesting that Anna might have a private plan to divorce after all.

So, what do Anna Duggar’s sisters think of her sticking with Josh Duggar through his prison sentence?

Her sisters haven’t made statements to the media. However, an insider previously alleged to Radar Online that Anna’s younger sister, Susana, “thinks Anna should leave Josh.” And this was before Josh’s arrest.

“Susanna and the whole Keller family knew about Josh’s past before Anna married him,” the insider alleged. “But they had no idea about the cheating and lying.”

“Anna’s family is completely devastated,” they continued.

Anna’s brother, Daniel Keller, previously denounced Josh on Facebook. According to People, Daniel wrote a scathing Facebook post in 2015 about Josh, whom he called a “pig” at the time.

As for the Duggar side of the family, Jill Dillard admitted in her memoir, Counting the Cost, that she has “no idea why Anna has decided to stay with Josh.”
