Ariana Grande is ready to take the next step with her boyfriend Ethan Slater. 

The Wicked star is “desperate” to tie the knot and start a family,” a source recently told Radar Online.

The report comes as breakup rumors swirl around the pair, who have been dating since 2023. 

“She’s been dropping hints that it’s time for him to put a ring on her finger,” the insider said, noting that the couple are “still very much together.”

Both Grande, 32, and Slater, 33, have both been married before. She was wed to Dalton Gomez from 2021 to 2024. (They separated in February 2023.) He filed for divorce from his high school sweetheart Lily Jay in July 2023, after five years of marriage.  

“Ariana is still very much pro-marriage,” the source claimed. “And Ethan seems to be just as all in and he’s very doting, so everyone’s expecting that he will propose soon.”

After she says “I do,” Grande is allegedly looking to jump right into motherhood. 

“[O]nce they are married, a baby is next on her list – she’s ready for the whole enchilada,” the insider said. 

Slater and Jay have one son, who was born in August 2022. In 2024, he called being a father “the best thing in the world.” 

“It’s been an interesting thing to navigate as a new parent,” he told GQ. “There’s nothing I want to do more than just show you pictures and talk about him because he’s the best and the light of my life. But I also want to give him the opportunity to meet the world on his own terms … to meet the world in an analog way and not through my words.”

Slater and Grande keep their romance similarly private. The couple met on the set of Wicked while both were still married to their previous partners. That’s led some people to side-eye the timeline of their relationship, though insiders have insisted they were both separated when the romance blossomed.

“They don’t really put their relationship out in public much because they get a lot of hate and that’s just very hard to take,” the insider told Radar. 

“Ariana doesn’t want a big wedding this time, and they actually might just elope and not have anything except a honeymoon to celebrate,” they added. “Since she usually gets what she wants, odds are there’ll be a diamond under the tree for her this Christmas.”
