Aubrey O’Day Says She Started Getting Plastic Surgery Because of Diddy
Aubrey O’Day became famous via Sean “Diddy” Combs’ MTV series, Making the Band. In addition to commenting on Combs’ federal trial, she candidly confronted the highs and regrets of her evolving beauty journey — and it’s been nothing short of transformative. O’Day admitted to once having lip fillers that “invaded” her face. Now, she says seeing old photos of herself with the filler makes her feel “disgusted.” Removing the lip enhancements marked a turning point as O’Day embraced a more natural look and reclaimed her true reflection. Here’s what she recently said about turning to plastic surgery because of remarks from Combs.
Aubrey O’Day says Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs influenced her decision to get plastic surgery
Aubrey O’Day has been an unwavering and fearless voice in speaking out against Sean “Diddy” Combs, her former mentor and Danity Kane creator. She condemned his alleged industry manipulation, from mind games and betrayal to being asked to sign restrictive NDAs not to disparage Bad Boy Records. In the wake of the serious sex-trafficking and abuse allegations against Combs, O’Day shared on social media that the arrest felt like a moral vindication. And she cautioned that exposure doesn’t erase trauma.
In addition to speaking out regarding her experience with Combs, O’Day got candid about her plastic surgery. In Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind, she discussed with Dr. Terry Dubrow how her involvement with Danity Kane made her want cosmetic procedures.
“It started with being in a girl group,” she admitted, “and the demands I noticed of my looks. Diddy was … this is a hard topic for me. I was the sexy one, and that needed to be who I was at all times.”
She also discussed how she wanted her lips to change with Dubrow’s help. “They’re, like, very uneven; they stick out, they’re very ducky,” she noted. “You know, not all surgeons are built the same, and some don’t have the balls to tell you we need to stop here.”
Aubrey O’Day previously talked about her ‘invasive’ lip fillers
Aubrey O’Day isn’t scared to get candid about her plastic surgery. A clip from Entertainment Tonight shows her talking about her “invasive” lip fillers that completely changed her look.
“I got lip fillers that were invading my face,” she explained. “And I thought they really looked good until they took them away. And I got to see that I was trippin’. Good God! I’m so happy those lips are off my face. When I see photos with the lip injections, I’m disgusted. I thought I was killing it, and I was not, ever, was I killing it with those big, giant …. When people would say duck lips, I’d be like, ‘They’re just jealous.'”
O’Day noted that some people tried to tell her the truth, but she assumed they were jealous of her looks. “Oh, no. They were trying to tell me,” she continued. “Some people aren’t haters. Some people really are trying to guide you better.”
The Danity Kane singer discussed her fears after Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ federal trial
Aubrey O’Day hoped to see Sean “Diddy” Combs found guilty on more than two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. She discussed on Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Present: Aubrey O’Day, Covering the Diddy Trial, that Combs’ victims feared for their lives following the trial verdict.
“Do you know how many victims called me today, Elizabeth, and said, ‘I’m scared. I’m trying to get somewhere right now,’” O’Day said. “I wasn’t feeling scared to go home, but they were like, ‘I got a call from somebody up high in the industry, and he was like, I wouldn’t post in real time where you are for awhile. Don’t post your home. Don’t post where you’re actually at — post it, like, two or three days later.’ That’s the kind of conversations people are having right now.”
