Oriana Schneps wasn’t afraid to make waves during her time on Bravo’s Below Deck Adventure. Now, Captain Kerry Titheradge‘s second stew is taking her career in a new direction, leveraging her experience on board to shape how luxury yachts are showcased in the virtual world.

Oriana’s company The Yacht Edit produces high-end digital content for charter yachts, builders, and brokerages around the world, helping maritime businesses reach new audiences with engaging video, photo graphy, and marketing campaigns. She also works with Captain Sandy’s Charities, a nonprofit run by Below Deck Mediterranean’s Captain Sandy Yawn that aims to educate young people about maritime careers.

None of that would have been possible without her time on Below Deck Adventure, she recently told the Above Deck podcast.

Oriana admits that she was “really intimidated” when she joined Captain Kerry on the Mercury

“I didn’t really know what his way of working was,” she said. “He can come off pretty harsh. He runs a tight ship when he wants to or when he needs to, and that can be really intimidating for new crew.”

But she soon found a groove with the captain, who now appears on Below Deck

“As the season went on and as our friendship honestly developed, I really started to understand how he leads and what his ethos is about. And we’re still friends today,” she said.

In fact, she enjoyed her experience so much that she’d leap at the chance to do it again, even though dealing with the “dramatic side” of filming was sometimes a challenge.

“I made so many friends from it. So, I absolutely would do another season of reality TV,” she said.

Unfortunately, Below Deck Adventure lasted only one season. Captain Kerry jumped ship to OG series Below Deck, replacing the departing Captain Lee Rosbach. That, combined with the show’s slightly different format, meant a second season never materialized. But Oriana still got a lot out of her experience – including a long-term relationship. Her now ex-boyfriend was a charter guest on one her trips.

“We actually dated for like a year and a half, two years,” she said. “We’re no longer together, shockingly.”

Bravo alum is charting new course

While her reality TV days are behind her – at least for now – Oriana is still very much involved in the maritime industry.

“About a year ago I started my own media and marketing company for the yachting industry,” she said. “So we focus specifically on mostly charter yachts and builders and brokerages, creating content and digital marketing to help them bring in more leads, which means that we always get to be out on the water still, which is really important and near and dear to my heart.”

“We get to travel all around the world,” she added. “We’re just in the Faroe Islands. We’re heading to Europe next week for the Cannes and Monaco boat shows. So yeah, definitely a different turn of events, but really happy.”

Oriana also works closely with Captain Sandy’s Charities

“Captain Sandy and her charity are rolling out a program for the school curriculum for middle and high school students, teaching them about different jobs in the industry,” she explained. Those jobs don’t just include the roles seen on Below Deck and its spinoffs, but also careers like tugboat captain or marina deckhand.

“We really want to show that full breadth of the industry so that way if students are interested in joining, they can really understand what a lot of these jobs entail,” Oriana said.

“It’s Dirty Jobs, but just related to boats,” she added with a laugh.
