Affleck even introduced de Armas to his children, signaling a deepening connection. However, the intense media scrutiny that accompanied their relationship took a toll. De Armas described the paparazzi attention as “horrible” and cited it as a primary reason for her decision to leave Los Angeles.
Affleck and de Armas split in January 2021 after nearly a year together. While they both went their separate ways (with Affleck reuniting with Jennifer Lopez that same year and tying the knot a year later), Affleck is reportedly keeping up with Tom Cruise and de Armas’ suspected romance.
“Ben is kind of jealous, yup,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “He really liked Ana a lot, and then she walked away and left him sad. So to see her happy with his friend is kind of weird for him.” The source added that Affleck’s friends joke that he should date Cruise’s ex-wife, Katie Holmes.
Not only is Affleck possibly jealous of Cruise’s romantic life, but he might also feel a twinge of jealousy over Cruise’s acting successes.
“I think every working actor in Hollywood is jealous of Tom’s success, and Ben is not any different,” the source continued. “But Ben is also happy for Tom. I mean, he admires that a colleague in his 60s is still going hard on the big screen. Ben hopes to be so lucky one day.”

Insiders alleged that Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas couldn’t make their romance work because of conflicting feelings regarding location and family planning. However, Affleck now allegedly regrets the breakup. Another source told DailyMail.com that Affleck feels like he could’ve “dodged the J.Lo bullet” if he stuck it out with de Armas.
“Ben and Ana had such a special and unique relationship because they were holed up together 24/7 during the pandemic,” the insider alleged. “They got so close so fast, and it was passionate and real.” Unfortunately, the source added that the romance ended “because she wanted marriage, and he did not.”
It’s unclear whether de Armas would want to give her romance with Affleck another go.

Cruise and de Armas reportedly headed to David Beckham’s 50th birthday together at the Michelin-starred restaurant Core in Notting Hill in May 2025.
An insider told Page Six that de Armas and Cruise “had a blast.”
“They came together and had a great night and clearly enjoy hanging out,” the source said. “But I couldn’t say any more than that … I’ve no proof it’s romantic.”
