Konya Hendricks Schuh is about to face her toughest critic: her mom.

In the upcoming season finale of A&E’s home renovation series Betting on Beloit, Konya walks her mother, billionaire businesswoman Diane Hendricks, through the house at 730 Park.

Turning the house from a run-down mess into a showstopping dream home took a lot of leg work – and a lot of money. Fortunately, Diane gives the finished project her seal of approval, as seen in this exclusive clip from the episode, which airs Saturday, August 16.

Konya transforms a run-down home in ‘Betting on Beloit’ finale

From the moment Konya and Diane step into the light and airy space, it’s clear that Diane is in impressed.

“Isn’t it pretty?” Konya asks.

“It is,” Diane agrees. “It’s big.”

“It’s like you feel you’re in a historic home, because we worked really hard to bring character in, but yet it is fresh and new,” her daughter explains.

Konya shows off thoughtful upgrades in the living room like brand new windows with integrated screens and a gas fireplace. But it’s the massive kitchen that’s the real showstopper. A large island provides plenty of work space and has room to seat five, while vintage-style lights and hardware on the cabinets add a unique touch.

“I love the kitchen,” Diane says. “It’s light in here … you know me, I like to see outside.”

But what really delights Diane is the cute backyard shed, which was built by shop class students at a local charter school.

Upstairs is a large master suite, including a bath with double sinks and a walk-in shower and soaking tub.

“I don’t think you’ve missed anything,” Diane says. “I should be asking, ‘What have you got in this?’ Because everything looks like it’s really high end.”

“We’re pushing a million buckaroos,” Konya admits.

The price tag for the renovation was high, but even the budget-conscious Diane seems to think it was worth it.

“I’ve like all of the houses that we’ve done,” she says. “That she’s done. But this one here is exceptional. Konya’s a go-getter. The first one, she was afraid of making decisions. Now, she’s like, ‘Don’t come back until I’ve got it done.’ She doesn’t need input from me anymore, and I like that.”

“It’s making a difference,” she added, referring to her and her daughter’s efforts to revitalize the struggling Wisconsin city. “And she’s doing it.”

The final two episodes of this season of Betting on Beloit air Saturday, August 16 at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET/PT on A&E. Episodes will also be available the next day on A&E’s website and on-demand.
