Beyoncé’s Renaissance era unfolded as a carefully constructed, multi-act artistic statement that redefined her catalog and cultural impact. It began with Act I: Renaissance and expanded with Act II: Cowboy Carter. Released in 2022, Renaissance celebrated Black and LGBTQ+ dance music traditions through house, disco, and club sounds. In 2024, she followed with Cowboy Carter. The. genre-bending album explored country, Americana, and roots music while challenging long-standing industry boundaries and reclaiming spaces where Black artists have historically been excluded.

Now, fans eagerly await information regarding Act III. The highly-anticipated follow-up album to Cowboy Carter will likely feature a music genre that fans haven’t yet heard from Beyoncé. And fans suspect Act III could come sooner rather than later.

In December 2025, a fan on Reddit noticed that Beyoncé removed the Cowboy Carter link from her Instagram profile.

“Oh my god I can’t even comprehend it we’re going into Act III,” another user commented.

Another fan asked whether Beyoncé removed the link to Renaissance before announcing Cowboy Carter, and a separate fan confirmed yes.

“For context, she did this on February 5th, 2024, and then announced Act 2 the following week at the Super Bowl on February 11th,” the fan wrote.

“We are slowly going into Act III era,” another fan commented.

Beyoncé previously confirmed that ‘Renaissance’ and ‘Cowboy Carter’ were part of a three-act project

Beyoncé hasn’t given fans an album title, release date, or single for Act III just yet. However, she did previously confirm that Renaissance and Cowboy Carter were part of a three-act project that she recorded during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“This three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic,” Beyoncé wrote in an accompanying booklet with the Renaissance vinyl, according to NME. “A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.”

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” Beyoncé continued in her note. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”

Will she release a rock album next?

Fans keeping up with Beyoncé’s public image believe she’s given clues to suggest that Act III might be a rock album. According to Capital UK, fans noticed that the performer’s Levi’s advertisement began with Beyoncé riding on a horse and ended with her riding on a motorcycle — a potential clear sign that rock music is to come. Additionally, they noticed how she was posing with the “sign of the horn” rock symbol in photos.

A fan on Reddit theorized that the singer would drop Act III toward the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026.

“It’ll come in 2026,” another fan guessed. “One year is the album, the next the tour … and so forth.”

Fans will have to wait and see when Beyoncé decides to release her final act in her trilogy.
