Blue Ivy Carter emerged as a standout performer throughout Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour,” captivating audiences with her poised stage presence and fashion-forward ensembles. At just 13 years old, Blue Ivy has transitioned from occasional appearances to full-time dancing, showcasing her growth and confidence on stage. So, is she destined for a music career just like her successful parents? Here’s what Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, recently said about Blue’s future.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, doesn’t think Blue Ivy Carter shares the same music ‘passion’ as her parents

Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has swiftly established herself as a multifaceted talent, earning accolades across music, acting, and the visual arts. At just 9 years old, she became the youngest Grammy winner in history for her contribution to the music video of “Brown Skin Girl.” The video also garnered her a BET Her Award, an NAACP Image Award, and an MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematography.

Her artistic prowess extends beyond music. Blue Ivy has showcased her skills in painting, poetry, and acting, with her voice featured in the 2024 film Mufasa: The Lion King. In 2025, she continued to shine, winning the BET YoungStars Award for the second consecutive year, solidifying her status as a rising star.

In September 2025, Tina Knowles spoke to People about Blue’s future. While Blue could certainly have a successful music career, Tina doesn’t know if “that’s her passion.”

“She can do so many things,” Tina told the publication. “She can paint, she writes poetry; anything she puts her mind to do, she’s good at. So, I don’t know what she’s going to do.”

“I think she would be great at music; [she] would kill it,” Tina continued. “But I don’t think that that’s her passion.”

Tina Knowles shared sweet stories on The Jennifer Hudson Show about Blue Ivy Carter’s dynamic in the Knowles-Carter family.

“They call her the manager,” Tina divulged. “She’s a bossy little Capricorn, like her grandma.”

Jennifer Hudson asked Tina if she believed Blue would follow in Beyoncé’s footsteps.

“I don’t know,” Tina admitted, “because Blue is, you know, she’s a jack of all trades, as my mom would say. She can do so many things. We don’t know, because she’s only 13. So, we’ll see.”

Tina also noted that she’s not the one giving Blue advice. Instead, that’s Beyoncé’s role. “Her and her mother are really tight,” Tina said. “They don’t need me to give much advice. They tell me to mind my business.”

A source previously alleged that Blue Ivy Carter considered a future in music

Tina Knowles might not think that Blue Ivy Carter will take the same route as Beyoncé and Jay-Z. But only time will tell. An insider previously told DailyMail.com that Blue was “considering starting her own career in music” after touring on the “Cowboy Carter Tour.”

“Some of Beyoncé’s favorite writers are quietly penning demos for her in anticipation of a solo album,” the source alleged in May 2025. They also noted that Blue’s aunt, Solange Knowles, was helping her write material.

“The-Dream has been spearheading it, and he has two or three records for her,” the source continued. “They know the fans want to hear a Blue record.”

While Beyoncé fans knew Blue was destined for stardom at a young age, she emerged as an artist in her own league while dancing on Beyoncé’s 2025 tour. Blue appeared to gain confidence on stage with each new location, clearly loving the limelight and excelling at the dance choreography.
