Bridget Moynahan is celebrating her former Blue Bloods co-star (and onscreen father) Tom Selleck, who turned 81 on January 29. 

“Happy Birthday to the best TV Dad!” the former model captioned a photo of herself and the Magnum P.I. star on the set of the CBS drama that she shared on Instagram.

From 2010 to 2014, Moynahan and Selleck starred in the fan-favorite drama about a family with deep ties to New York City law enforcement. He played police commissioner Frank Reagan, while she portrayed his daughter, assistant district attorney Erin Reagan.

Selleck also got a special shout-out from Donnie Wahlberg, who played Erin’s brother Danny Reagan on Blue Bloods. (He reprises the role in the new CBS series Boston Blue.

“Happy Birthday! To my forever (TV) dad and friend. Tom Selleck!” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

How will Selleck celebrate turning 81? The actor isn’t on social media, but last year, he marked his birthday with a quiet dinner with his wife, Jillie Mack, and their daughter Hannah, in Thousand Oaks, California, according to People.

While Selleck has taken a break from acting Blue Bloods ended more than a year ago, he’s said in the past that he hopes his age won’t keep him from doing what he loves. 

“I love the work. Sometimes the hours are a little harder because I’m older, but so what?” he said in a January 2024 interview with TV Insider. “I want to work as long as they’ll have me.”
