‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Katie Bates’ Husband Travis Clark Is ‘Fighting for My Wife’ After Cheating Scandal

More than a month after confessing to cheating on his wife, Travis Clark says he’s fighting to save his marriage. 

In late January, Travis publicly announced he’d been unfaithful to his wife, Bringing Up Bates star Katie Bates. 

“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust,” Travis, 24, wrote in a January 18 Instagram post.

Since the bombshell announcement – which came one day after his wife revealed she’d just experienced a miscarriage – Katie, 25, has revealed that she’s entered intensive therapy. Meanwhile, Travis says he’s trying to make amends. 

“I’ve been sitting in what I did for a couple months now, and I feel so much inside but it’s hard to find the right words,” he wrote in the March 4 Instagram post, which also featured a collage of photos of Katie, Travis, and their two children. 

“At the end of last year I made decisions I deeply regret,” he continued. “I’m disappointed, ashamed, and honestly disgusted with myself. The last couple months have been humbling. A lot of hard work, therapy, time with God… I know I’m not owed anything, but I am desperately fighting for my wife and my family every single day. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family.”

Meanwhile, Katie has not indicated whether she plans to stay married to Travis or leave the relationship. In a recent post on her Instagram Story (via People), she said she was still processing her husband’s betrayal. 

“This year didn’t start how I thought it would. It’s been really heavy and emotional in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Some days I feel okay and steady. And other days it’s hard to even leave the house,” she wrote. “I’m just trying to take it one day at a time.”
