Britney Spears is calling out her family after they celebrated Christmas in Louisiana without her.

On Sunday, the pop star took to Instagram to share a sarcastic holiday message.

“Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma, the kind you can’t fix … to my dear sweet innocent family,” the 44-year-old wrote.

“So so sorry I was busy this Christmas but I will definitely show up and surprise you soon … I can’t wait …. hello, beautiful Ivy … I just want to hold you, my love … Godspeed, friends,” she added, referring to her young niece, Ivy, the daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears

Spears’ post came a few days after Jamie Lynn shared a series of photos of the Spears family on Christmas on her own Instagram. The “Toxic” singer’s eldest son, Preston, 20, spent the day with his mom’s extended family, including his aunt Jamie Lynn, Jamie Lynn’s other daughter, Maddie, and his grandmother, Lynne Spears. Meanwhile, the Grammy winner celebrated Christmas with her younger son Jayden, 19.

Spears has a complicated relationship with her family. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman In Me, she said she sometimes felt “anger” toward Jamie Lynn, whom she felt had “wronged” her.

“She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family,” Spears wrote. “I’m working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and toward everyone who I feel has wronged me. It’s not easy.”
