Brittany Cartwright on Quitting ‘Special Forces’ After 1 Day: ‘I Tried and I’m Proud’
Brittany Cartwright wasn’t up to the task.
On Thursday, The Valley star traded brunch cocktails for brutal physical challenges in the season 4 premiere of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Unfortunately, she soon realized she had bitten off more than she could chew in signing up for the show, which takes a group of celebrity recruits and forces them to endure some of the harshest, most grueling challenges from the actual Special Forces selection process.
Brittany Cartwright was the first person eliminated on ‘Special Forces’ Season 4
Brittany arrived in Morocco with something to prove. After a brutal split from her ex, fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor, she was ready to show the world – and Jax – that she was stronger than people thought.
“I finally found the strength to leave a very toxic relationship,” she said in the premiere. “I had my ex writing me being like, ‘You’re not going to make it far.’ People like that, I want to prove wrong.”
The Special Forces drill sergeants wasted no time in putting Brittany and the other recruits, including RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice and Sister Wives star Kody Brown, through the wringer. In the first major challenge, the recruits had to rappel off a helicopter and then carry supplies uphill.
Unfortunately, making the jump was a major hurdle for Brittany, who admitted that she has a fear of heights. She was the last person from Team Bravo to leap from the helicopter, and she got stuck on the way down, making it a failed attempt. Once on the ground, she continued to struggle. Moving the drums of supplies uphill was difficult for the mom of one, who confessed she wasn’t in perfect shape.
Bravo ultimately lost the supply challenge to Team Alpha. That meant that Brittany and her teammates had to run back to camp. That proved to be too much for the Bravo star, who gave up mid-run.
“I can’t. I’m going to throw up,” she said. “I knew I was going to be first. I knew it. So embarrassing.”
‘The Valley’ star reacts to quitting ‘Special Forces’
Brittany’sSpecial Forces journey didn’t end the way she hoped, as she became the first season 4 cast member to quit the show voluntarily. But rather than wallow in her failure, the reality TV star is focusing on the positive aspects of the experience. She glad she pushed herself to do something out of her comfort zone and overcome one of her fears.
“That was rough!!” she wrote on her Instagram Story after the episode aired. “I tried and I’m proud I jumped out of a freaking helicopter lol.”
