From Bridgerton to Euphoria to Will Trent, there’s no shortage of new seasons of your favorite shows to look forward to in 2026. Streamers like Netflix have a full slate of fresh releases on the horizon. Meanwhile, broadcast networks are kicking off the new year with new and returning shows. But not every show will be back in 2026. Several fan-favorite series took their final bow in 2024, including S.W.A.T., FBI: Most Wanted, and Doctor Odyssey. We’ve pulled together a list of some notable broadcast TV shows that were canceled over the past 12 months. Is your favorite on the list?

‘S.W.A.T.’

The third time was not the charm for S.W.A.T. In March, the CBS canceled the show for a third and final time. But even the latest kiss of death wasn’t enough to fully kill S.W.A.T. In May, series star Shemar Moore announced that a spinoff series was in development. S.W.A.T. Exiles will feature Moore as Hondo, who is now leading a team of new recruits. The spinoff news came as a shock to many of the original cast members, including David Lim. He admitted to being blindsided by the announcement and feeling “brushed aside.”

S.W.A.T. Exiles went into production this fall, but there’s no word yet on when or where it might premiere.

‘The Equalizer’

Queen Latifah starred as ex-CIA operative turned vigilante in CBS’s reboot of The Equalizer. The show premiered in 2021 and aired for five seasons before it finally ran out of gas.

The Equalizer blew past every dream we had for it, and having the opportunity to do this for five seasons honestly feels surreal,” Latifah wrote on Instagram after the cancellation was announced. “Thank you to our amazing cast, crew, and producers and writers! And I can’t say enough about the FANS! Y’all have been so loyal, so loud, and so ride-or-die—and that’s exactly why we keep doing this. We can’t thank you enough. It means the world to us.”

‘Suits LA’

The USA Network legal drama Suits got a second life when it was added to Netflix a few years back. But NBC’s attempt to capitalize on renewed interest in the series (which featured a pre-royal Meghan Markle) was a bust. Suits LA, which starred Stephen Amell, didn’t have a strong connection to the original show, aside from a guest appearance from Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter. It never caught on with viewers and was canceled after just one short season.

‘Doctor Odyssey’

ABC’s wacky cruise ship medical drama Dr. Odyssey garnered some high-profile fans – including HBO’s John Oliver – during its one-season run. But that wasn’t enough to save the Joshua Jackson show, which was canceled in June 2025.

“What the f*ck are you doing ABC?” Oliver ranted ahead of the cancellation announcement, calling it “sexy ER on a boat” and “The Pitt with sharks.”

“It’s got – and I’m not even going to try to beat their tagline on this – Big Deck Energy …,” he added. “You’re a disgrace, ABC. Your network is a disaster.”

‘Deal or No Deal Island’

Joe Manganiello hosted this mashup of the long-running game show Deal or No Deal with Survivor. It featured contestants completing challenges on a tropical island in an effort to win briefcases full of cash. The show aired for two seasons on NBC before it was canceled in early December 2025. While ratings weren’t strong, some fans suspect the real reason Deal or No Deal Island got the ax because was because it was so expensive. Season 2 winner David Genat went home with $5.8 million – the largest prize in game show history, prompting one viewer to comment that he’d “bankrupted” NBC.

‘FBI: Most Wanted’

CBS cut back its list of FBI shows earlier this year. Spinoff FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International were both canceled, much to the disappointment of fans. But it’s not all bad news for fans of the procedurals. FBI is renewed through 2027. And a new offshoot, CIA, premieres February 26 on CBS. It follows a CIA agent (Tom Ellis) who works with an FBI agent (Nick Gehlfuss) to solve crimes.

‘The Cleaning Lady’

ABC cleaned house by canceling crime drama The Cleaning Lady after four seasons. The move meant that the show’s season 4 finale ended up serving as its series finale, despite ending on a serious cliffhanger as Thony (Élodie Yung) vowed to take over the cartel. The cancellation didn’t come as huge surprise. The show’s ratings had declined after storylines needed to be reworked following the tragic death of series star Adan Canto in 2024.

‘Night Court’

Which HGTV Shows Are Coming Back in 2026?

NBC’s revival of classic comedy Night Court ended its run in May 2025 after three seasons. The show starred Melissa Rauch as Judge Abby Stone, the daughter of Harry Stone from the original series. Unfortunately for fans, declining ratings and a crowded schedule meant the show wasn’t brought back for a fourth season, despite the creators’ best efforts to find a new place for the sitcom.

“We did everything in our power to find another home for [Night Court],” Rauch wrote on Instagram. “…After turning over all the stones there were to be turned over, we’ve learned that it is officially the hour to say ‘farewell.’”

‘Found’

Missing persons drama Found was another struggling show that lost its spot in NBC’s lineup. Shanola Hampton starred as Gabi Mosely, the head of a team dedicated to finding people who’ve vanished. But she had a secret weapon in her basement – Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), the man who kidnapped her when she was a teen and who now helps her solve cases.

While Found has officially been canceled, fans are hoping that there still might be a chance to save the show. Both seasons will arrive on Netflix in early 2026. That’s caused some to speculate renewed interest could lead to a surprise third season.

‘Poppa’s House’

Poppa’s House, a sitcom starring  Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., was canceled by CBS after one season. Wayans played a radio host who had to adapt to working with a female co-host while also living with his adult son (Wayans Jr.).

“Creating poppas house was such a beautiful journey,” Wayans wrote in a post on Instagram after the cancellation was announced. “My heart is full as I say thank you to every single person who made Poppa’s House such a meaningful experience … A very special thank you to my son, Damon Jr. working beside you has been one of the greatest joys of my life.”

‘Rescue HI-Surf’

Fox decided not to renew its Hawaii-set series Rescue HI-Surf for a second season. While the short-lived series had some loyal fans, it suffered from a lack of recognizable names in the cast, noted Deadline. It was also one of the network’s most expensive shows to produce. But fans of beachy drama shouldn’t despair. A Baywatch reboot is set to premiere during the 2026-27 season on Fox.
