Cardi B has been unusually candid about her plastic surgery over the years. She’s openly detailed both the procedures she’s had and the lessons she’s learned. The rapper has said she first got breast implants at 18 to address insecurities. She later underwent additional work, including liposuction, rhinoplasty, and dental veneers. She has also spoken at length about getting illegal butt injections in her early 20s, which she later began removing. Cardi has emphasized that her choices were personal and often tied to confidence or industry pressures. However, in recent years, she’s used her platform to urge people to thoroughly research procedures and prioritize safety.
In March 2026, Cardi sat down on Today with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones to discuss touring. And they also covered how the rapper feels about her body.
“You’ve also been very honest about the fact that you were saying you might wanna go to Colombia, take some time after the tour to do a procedure,” Jones questioned.
“Oh yeah, yeah, I was saying that, but I’m not gonna do it,” Cardi verified. “I was just going to take a little bit of butt out, but I don’t have time for that. You know what, I feel really comfortable with where I’m at right now, with my body and everything. I do have a whole bunch of cellulite; I don’t know if it’s my age, or I don’t know if it’s the fact that I have four kids.”
Cardi added that while she often looks perfect, she’s not — and she has no issue with her imperfections.
In September 2025, the rapper opened up on the Call Her Daddy podcast about getting a reduction on her behind. However, this time-consuming procedure is another one that she likely feels she doesn’t have time for after her tour.
“I already did a reduction,” she said. “For me to reduce my butt, I literally have to sit on a table, get cut from the bottom, get cut from the top, and be on bed rest for, like, three months.”

Cardi B has been especially open about getting illegal butt injections in her early 20s. She described the experience as both painful and dangerous. Cardi revealed that at 21, she paid about $800 for biopolymer injections administered in a basement in Queens by an unlicensed provider with no anesthesia. She said it was “the craziest pain ever,” while speaking to GQ. The rapper added that she felt dizzy and that the injection sites leaked for days afterward.
Cardi noted that she considered returning for a touch-up, but the woman who injected her faced an unfortunate fate.
“But by the time I was gonna go get it, the lady got locked up ’cause she’s supposedly killed somebody,” the rapper continued.
In 2022, Cardi discussed how she had 95% of her butt injections removed, according to Allure.
“Whatever you do, don’t get a** shots, girl,” she noted. “I’m really against them. I all the way support you if you want to do alternations to your body, but do not get a** shots. I would never f***ing recommend them.”
