Cardi B Says She’s ‘Sympathetic’ Toward Those Who Hurt Her Following Nicki Minaj Feud
Cardi B and Nicki Minaj were locked in yet another explosive clash, reigniting a long-standing rivalry that drew intense attention across social media and entertainment news. What started as a dig from Minaj over the sales and promotional pricing of Cardi’s new album, Am I the Drama?, quickly escalated into a barrage of personal insults that touched on pregnancy, family members, children, and music legacy. After the dust settled, Cardi sat down and discussed how she’s actually quite “sympathetic” toward others despite what fans may think of her. Here’s what she explained.
Cardi B says she’s ‘too compassionate’ toward others despite public perception
Cardi B sat down on Oct. 6, 2025, with the Jay Shetty Podcast to shed light on her inner world. This past week, she and Nicki Minaj reignited their longstanding beef and hurled insults at each other on social media. Fans from both sides were drawn in, though many recoiled when Cardi and Minaj started to mention each other’s children.
While speaking on the podcast, Cardi explained how her brand of humor occasionally rubs fans the wrong way. But it’s never intentional.
“I’m not trying to hurt nobody. I don’t want to hurt nobody. So many people criticize me because of that, or judge my character because of that,” she said. “But it’s like, I’m not this evil, mean person that people think that I am. I’m very, actually, compassionate. I’m too compassionate. There’s something that might be going on on the other side of the world, and I’m crying for it.”
“I’m very compassionate, and I’m very understanding,” Cardi continued. “And I’m a Libra, so I see always two sides of the scale. I always have sympathy — just a little. I even have sympathy b****es that f*** my man, and they have taken a family loss. I’m like, damn, I feel bad for her. That’s how sympathetic I am.”
Cardi went on to call her mouth “rough,” which leads others to believe that she’s not as nice as she really is.
The ‘Am I the Drama?’ rapper said she was always getting in trouble as a child
During the podcast interview, Cardi B explained how she came up with the title of her 2025 album, Am I the Drama?.
“Ever since I was a little girl, I always get in trouble,” she described. “And it don’t really be me!”
Cardi explained how her aunts and mother consistently blamed her for getting into trouble as a kid. When she would get into fights, her mother would scold her and question why she’d get into conflict in the first place.
“‘It’s these girls! They keep trying me. That’s why I keep getting into fights,'” Cardi would tell her mom. ” … And that’s just how it is with my life. It’s like, yo, I’m always in a scandal. I’m always in some bulls***; I’m always in some beef. And it’s like, no matter how much I avoid it, it comes to me! Am I the f***ing drama?”
Cardi B said she was going to listen to ‘love songs’ following her epic Nicki Minaj feud
After days of back-and-forth public messages on social media, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj issued their final words. While the rappers haven’t made up, Cardi announced that she “needs to chill.”
“Tonight, I’m not listening to Am I The Drama? I’ma listen to some love songs tonight,” she said in a clip posted to Instagram. “Because, the way I’ve been in Vietnam, I need to chill. And lemme tell you something. I’ma go back to Vietnam. I’ma let b****es have their fun. Have your fun, but when I say I’m pretty and petty as f***, h**s think they’re ready, they ain’t ready enough. But have your fun, though. I want you to have your fun.”
