Those are fighting words.

The Real Housewives of New York City vet Carole Radziwill hasn’t forgotten her co-star Jessel Taank’s thoughtless comments about the late Carolyn Besette Kennedy, she recently said.

Since returning to RHONY after an eight-year absence, Carole has been fielding questions and comments from her younger co-stars about her relationship with both Carolyn and John F. Kennedy Jr., who died in a plane crash in 1999, along with Bessette’s sister.

“[Jessel] turned to me and she was like, ‘You’re wearing the Carolyn Bessette aesthetic,’” Carole said on the latest episode of The Real Housewives of New York City After Show podcast.

“I literally wanted to punch her in the face,” she added.

Jessel isn’t the only one who is fascinated by Carolyn and John. Their relationship was dramatized in FX’s hit series Love Story, which aired earlier this year. Bessette and Radziwill – who was married to Kennedy cousin Anthony Radziwill before his 1999 death – met through their husbands and quickly became close friends.

Carole’s connection to Love Story and the Kennedy family immediately came up when she sat down for her first dinner with the other RHONY ladies. Daisy Toye told Carole that she was “dying” to discuss Love Story. At that point, Jessel jumped in.

“Just ask the question. Was she a bitch? That’s what I want to know,” Jessel said.

Carole called Jessel a ‘dingbat’

Later, Jessel made her comments about “Carolyn Bessette summer,” pointing out that “everyone” was trying to copy Besette’s signature minimalist style.

“I don’t love that,” Carole replied at the time. But Jessel refused to read the room, going on to share her thoughts on infamous “Kennedy curse.”

In a confessional, Carole made it clear that she found Jessel’s comments offensive.

“The tragic deaths of my cousins and best friend might be very upsetting to me,” she  said. “I want to strangle her.”

Later, Carole told Jessel that she had “dingbat vibes,” an insult that baffled the British-born Bravo star.

In general, Jessel seemed unable to grasp why Carole was hurt by the way she talked about her late friend.

“I don’t think I ever got through to her,” Carole said on the After Show.

Meanwhile, in her segment on the After Show, Jessel defended her remarks, insisting they were complimentary.

“God forbid, if I was ever in Carole’s shoes, I wouldn’t look at it like that,” she said. “I wouldn’t take it on as, like, a personal offense, you know what I mean? I don’t think anyone’s trying to, like, demean her in any way. I don’t think it warrants calling me a dingbat.”

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
