Chris Brown is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album with the “Breezy Bowl XX tour,” a monumental stadium tour spanning North America and Europe in 2025. The tour features R&B luminaries Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, and Jhené Aiko as special guests, promising fans a dynamic blend of past hits and new material. And Brown has already established himself as a prolific collaborator in the music industry. However, he and the R&B queen, Beyoncé, have rarely worked together in the past. Here’s what he recently said about Beyoncé being one of the greatest stars of all time.

Chris Brown recently called Beyoncé out as one of the ‘best superstars’

Chris Brown recently got candid about who he believes are the absolute best people in the music industry who can’t be outdone. On Sept. 6, 2025, he took to his Instagram Stories to settle the debate.

“Honest opinion: Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, and Usher are all the BEST superstars in lanes of their own,” Brown wrote, according to Vibe.

However, he then went on to explain that the “who’s better” debate doesn’t need to exist, as each artist should freely express themselves however they choose.

“Back in the day, music was individuality and we were able to be inspired by all the artist from the past because they were the best versions of their creativity WITHOUT DEBATES ON WHO’S BETTER [sic],” he continued in the post.

“I SEE A LOT OF PODCAST AND DEBATES ON WHO’S BETTER,” Brown wrote. “And the truth is that we all shine bright in our own way. I’LL NEVER SAY I’M BETTER THAN ANYTHING. I’m just being the best Chris Brown.”

Brown noted that the artists he listed influenced him to “go hard and never give up,” as he wants recognition for helping others with his talent. And while he loves Beyoncé, he doesn’t believe she can hold a candle to the true greatest musician of all time.

“MICHAEL JACKSON WILL FOREVER BE THE GOAT AND THAT’S NOT EVEN ARGUABLE,” he posted.

Chris Brown and Beyoncé haven’t crossed musical paths often. In 2015, Brown noted that he created a remix of Beyoncé’s song “Jealous” that was meant to appear on the Beyoncé (Platinum Edition) album. However, it never made the cut.

A TikTok shows Brown discussing who he’d love to collaborate with in the future, and he named Beyoncé.

“Honestly, I’ve probably said this once before, but probably Beyoncé,” he told the interviewer when asked about his dream collab, “only because of what that would look like, you know what I’m saying? Us really do a dope song with both of us dancing in it. That would be dope, like a check off my to-do list.”

In another interview, Brown called Beyoncé “the GOAT — that’s the one thing ain’t nobody can debate. She’s the GOAT.”

The R&B queen once refused to comment on Chris Brown and Rihanna’s controversial romance

Chris Brown and Rihanna’s romance, which began in 2007, was famously passionate but marred by turmoil. Their relationship reached a tragic turning point in 2009 when Brown assaulted Rihanna, an incident that led to widespread media coverage, a criminal conviction, and a temporary breakup. Despite brief reconciliations over the years, the pair ultimately went their separate ways.

Larry King asked Beyoncé about the situation while she made a guest appearance on Larry King Live. She didn’t say much about Brown and Rihanna, instead noting that they both deserve privacy surrounding the situation.

“I think it’s really important in those times of need that people give people their privacy,” Beyoncé commented. “So, all you can do is pray and leave it up to the people around [Rihanna] and her to make great decisions. And she has, and she will. I’m here to support her, as well as all of my family. She’s like family to me.”
