Chris Brown arrested in the U.K.

On May 14, Brown, 36, took to social media to post about Lanez, who was recently hospitalized after being stabbed by a fellow inmate at a California prison. “Free Tory!!!!!” Brown wrote on his Instagram Story.

Earlier on the morning of May 15, Brown himself was taken into custody at a hotel in Manchester, the BBC reported. He’s being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw. The R&B star is accused of assaulting Diaw at the Tape nightclub in London in February 2023. Diaw has said that Brown hit him over the head with a bottle, then punched and kicked him as he lay on the floor.

The arrest comes ahead of Brown’s Breezy Bowl tour, which is scheduled to kick off in Amsterdam in early June. Brown was arrested shortly after he arrived in the U.K. via private jet, according to People.
