Chris Brown has found himself in hot water once again. The singer allegedly struck Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle multiple times, rendering him unconscious, and then stomped on him while he was on the floor. Diaw claims to have suffered head lacerations and torn ligaments in his leg, resulting in permanent injuries and severe emotional distress. Surveillance footage reportedly corroborates his account. In May 2025, detectives traveled to Manchester and arrested Brown at The Lowry Hotel after 2 a.m., according to The Sun.

“A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm,” the Metropolitan police stated. “He has been taken into custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.”

Diaw previously spoke to The Sun about the alleged incident. “He hit me over the head two or three times,” the producer said. “My knee collapsed as well.” Brown allegedly attacked Diaw during one of his UK dates on a worldwide tour. Diaw’s civil claim requests that Brown pay $12 million in damages for his injuries and wage losses.

Is Chris Brown’s ‘Breezy Bowl’ tour in jeopardy?

The investigation into the alleged attack could jeopardize Chris Brown’s “Breezy Bowl XX” stadium world tour. It’s unclear how the police investigation and Brown’s arrest will impact his concert dates. The R&B singer has not addressed the speculation on social media.

“TEAM BREEZY !!!!!TEAM BREEZY!!!TEAM BREEZY!!!!!BREEZY BOWL 20th anniversary TOUR!!!!!!!!!! CELEBRATING 20 years of CB,” Brown wrote on Instagram to announce the tour, according to Billboard. “So excited to be able to share this moment with the world and my amazing fans. The alleged bottle attack victim previously said that the R&B singer failed to respond to the lawsuit

In Touch Weekly reported on Chris Brown’s alleged bottle attack in October 2024. The publication obtained court documents from the alleged victim, Abe Diaw. The documents noted that Brown failed to respond to the lawsuit. Diaw served paperwork to Brown at the singer’s Los Angeles home in February and April of that year.

“Despite this proper service, [Chris] has failed to file any response to the Complaint or the first amended complaint, exceeding the statutory time limit for doing so,” the motion reads.. “As of October 1, 2024, it has been 141 days since defendant was served with the first amended complaint. [Chris] has remained noncompliant, effectively abandoning his opportunity to contest the claims set forth in the complaint.”

Brown also faced another lawsuit at the time. His former housekeeper, Maria Avila, alleged that Brown’s dog violently attacked her in December 2020. Her lawyer accused Brown of negligence, as the singer allegedly knew that his dog had a history of violence.
