After 18 years of marriage, Chris Rock and Malaak Compton-Rock called it quits on their marriage. The couple finalized their divorce in 2016, and it was far from simple due to an expired prenup. This gave Compton-Rock the ability to seek a significant amount of money from Rock. So, how much did she get from their divorce? Here are the estimates.

Chris Rock and his ex-wife, Malaak Compton-Rock, had a complex divorce due to an expired prenuptial agreement

Chris Rock and Malaak Compton-Rock announced their divorce in 2014 after spending 19 years together. The couple noted that they prioritized their kids above all else during the split. As for what contributed to the breakup, Rock has noted that his own infidelities played a role. The comedian also took personal blame for not being the best husband to Compton-Rock throughout their marriage. They finalized the split in 2016.

In 2015, Page Six reported that Compton-Rock sought a large chunk of Rock’s fortune. Because their divorce case was sealed by court order, the complete details of the financial settlement have never been publicly released. This includes specifics on the division of assets or exact support figures.

However, available reporting and public wealth estimates provide a strong picture of what likely happened. Compton‑Rock, who had left her career early in their marriage to focus on family and philanthropy, pursued a payout that would allow her to maintain a lifestyle comparable to what she and their children had during the marriage. Court filings reportedly argued she was entitled to financial support “commensurate with the marital standard of living,” according to Iafrate Salassa Family Law, especially after the couple’s prenuptial agreement expired under a sunset clause.

While there’s no official confirmation, Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Compton‑Rock received approximately $40 million as part of the settlement. That figure aligns with the general understanding that Rock’s net worth was roughly $70 million around the time of the divorce.
