In a turn that’s surprised many fans, Gwen Stefani has swapped her stage‑ready glam for spiritual vibes this season. She recently teamed up with the Catholic prayer and meditation app Hallow to lead its 2025 Pray25 campaign. The “Hollaback Girl” singer invited her millions of followers to join daily prayers and reflections, calling the season a time to reflect and “make room in your heart for Jesus.” Unfortunately, the campaign didn’t resonate with many fans due to the company’s anti-abortion stance. And Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause commented on Stefani’s endorsement.

Gwen Stefani has never kept her religious ways a secret. In December 2025, she encouraged her fans to download the Christian prayer app Hallow.

“It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer,” Stefani told her fans in a video posted to Instagram. “That is what Christmas is all about: letting God into our hearts and letting Jesus bring us his peace.” In the caption, she added that Advent “has always been a reminder to slow down, even when everything around us is moving so fast,” making it a “special time to reflect, pray, and make room in your heart for Jesus.”

“The @hallowapp Advent challenge is called Be Still, and together we’ll learn how to find stillness amidst the chaos and embrace peace even when our lives are so busy,” Stefani continued. “Join me for Pray25: Be Still on Hallow.”

Stefani faced backlash for promoting the app due to Hallow’s anti-abortion stance. In 2023, CEO Alex Jones stated that the company “proudly and unequivocally” supports “the pro-life stance of the Church and the USCCB’s affirmation of [the end of] abortion as the preeminent priority,” according to The Independent.

Podcaster Matt Bernstein, the host of the A Bit Fruity podcast, posted about Stefani’s new campaign on his Instagram. His post emphasizes Hallow’s anti-abortion stance. And Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause commented negatively about Stefani.

“Gwen-DON’T SPEAK,” Stause wrote. “Please take your own advice on this one.”

Stause’s comment garnered over 37,000 likes and over 80 comments.
