Christina Haack, Tarek El Moussa’s HGTV Future in Doubt After Shocking Cancellations: Report
It might be the end of an era at HGTV. Two shows featuring network stalwarts Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa have been canceled, according to reports.
Christina’s lifestyle and home design series Christina on the Coast has not been renewed for season 6, insiders told People. Meanwhile, The Flipping El Moussas, which stars Tarek and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa, has also been canceled.
However, the trio may not be completely done at the network. The source said that their new competition show, The Flip Off, has been renewed for a second season. The status of Christina’s other show, Christina in the Country, isn’t clear. That series followed Christina as she renovated homes in Tennessee with her then-husband Josh Hall. (Josh and Christina split last year.)
Showbiz Cheat Sheet has reached out to HGTV for comment about the reported cancellations.
HGTV has canceled multiple shows in recent weeks
Former husband-and-wife team Tarek and Christina have been staples on HGTV for more than a decade. Their first show, Flip or Flop, premiered in 2013 and continued even after they divorced in 2018.
Neither Tarek nor Christina has commented on the status of their shows. In a July 7 Instagram post, Christina celebrated turning 42 and mentioned that she was “manifesting … a new season of shooting [TV] [and ] bigger & better design projects.”
Christina on the Coast and The Flipping El Moussas are just the latest shows to get the ax at HGTV. In recent weeks, the hosts of Married to Real Estate, Farmhouse Fixer, Bargain Block, and Izzy Does It have also said that their shows will not return.
