Halloween is almost here, which means it’s time to curl up on your couch and watch some spooky favorites. Whether you’re in the mood for a legendarily creepy flick from one of the masters or cinema, the slasher movie that started it all, or a family-friendly film that won’t keep your little ones up at night, there’s something for everyone out there this October 31. We’ve rounded up some of the best classic Halloween movies you can watch on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and other streaming services in 2025.

Netflix has a long list of terrifying originals to binge this Halloween, including the new Ryan Murphy series Monster: The Ed Gein Story. The streamer’s library is lighter on scary classics, but there are a few old standbys to check out.
Frank Langella stars as a vampire who makes all the ladies in England swoon in Dracula, a 1979 adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic novel. For a different take on the blood-sucking count, try Bram Stoker’s Dracula from Francis Ford Coppola, which stars Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, and Winona Ryder.
Night of the Living Dead might not be the first zombie movie, but this low-budget classic from George Romero did create many of the tropes now associated with the genre, including the mindless, shuffling zombie gait.
A troubled model discovers that her new Brooklyn apartment is actually a gateway to hell in The Sentinel, one of string of religious-themed horror movies that were popular in the ‘70s, such as The Exorcist and The Omen. Netflix also has 1995’s Casper and 2002’s 28 Days Later.

You can dive into some of the most enduring and influential Halloween movies on Prime Video. Amazon’s streaming service is home to many of the original Universal Monsters movies, including Frankenstein with Boris Karloff and Dracula with Bela Lugosi, as well as The Creature From the Black Lagoon, The Bride of Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man.
Prime Video also has a number of classic horror movies featuring the iconic Vincent Price, including The Pit and The Pendulum, The Falls of the House of Usher, House on Haunted Hill, and The Raven.

Hulu subscribers in the mood for a fright fest are in luck. The streaming library has a solid library of horror favorites, including Alien (and its various sequels), vampire action horror Blade, and cult favorite musical comedy The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

HBO Max subscribers can cue up some memorably unsettling horror movies, including classic haunted house tale The Amityville Horror and the 1978 remake of the Cold War-era sci-fi story Invasion of the Body Snatchers. You can also watch low-budget cult favorite Carnival of Souls, the haunting French horror Eyes Without a Face, and Stanley Kubrick’s acclaimed adaptation of Stephen King’s The Shining.
