Collin Gosselin to Expose Family Secrets in Tell-All Memoir
Collin Gosselin is preparing to spill all of his family’s secrets. The Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum is writing tell-all memoir about his experience on reality TV, his time in an institution, and his estranged mom’s alleged abuse.
Collin Gosselin has ‘always wanted to write a book’
“I have always wanted to write a book for a long time,” Collin told The U.S. Sun. “All the way back to institution, I was thinking about the events of the show and institution.”
“You just think about how institution was and I remember so many details from it,” he added. “I just remember life experiences in general. Everything from TV to institution to family members.”
Collin, 21, is currently working with someone to help him develop a draft of the book. He said that process was helping him work through issues from his past.
“I’m working with a lady who is helping me to construct this a little better. Going over these events and putting them on paper and drafting them is almost therapeutic in a way,” he said.
“It’s nice to talk about these things,” Collin continued. “The more I talk about one thing I remember little details of it. I’ll talk about a time in my life, all these details will come up. It’s nice in a way. it’s nice to put it out there.”
‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ star says he was a victim of mom Kate Gosselin’s abuse
Collin starred in Jon and Kate Plus 8 along with his seven siblings and his parents, Jon and Kate Gosselin. The show aired from 2007 to 2017 and chronicled their life as a large family of multiples. Jon and Kate had twins, Mady and Cara, as well as a set of sextuplets: Collin, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Leah, and Joel.
After Jon and Kate divorced in 2009, Kate was awarded primary custody of all eight children. She later had Collin institutionalized for what she says were severe behavioral issues. He’s alleged his mother was abusive and turned him into the family scapegoat. Eventually, Jon obtained custody of Collin and his sister Hannah. Collin is currently estranged from Kate and most of his other siblings.
Collin says his book will provide more details supporting his claims of being abused by Kate.
“I am going to release financial documents,” he said. “I am going to release everything so that they at least have the proof to build their own perspective.
“I am going to release proof that puts everything there so people can think for themselves,” he added.
