A grab bag of reality TV vets and other personalities – including Bravo alums and an infamous politician – are putting themselves to the ultimate test. 

Fox has announced the cast of Special Forces Season 5, which premieres September 24. The latest season of the reality series will see the recruits deployed in Malaysia. They’ll have to adapt to uncomfortable conditions, unpredictable terrain, and harsh jungle warfare tasks, including a claustrophobic search of an underground bunker and a barrage of chemical gassing.

The 15 celebrities will take on training exercises led by Directing Staff (DS) Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Jovon “Q” Quarles, an elite team of ex-special forces operatives.

“The secret is out… I’m so excited to announce that this fall, you can watch me take on the challenges of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test!” Gosselin wrote on Instagram after the cast was announced. “This experience was so special to me, and I met some truly incredible people along the way. I can’t wait for you all to watch us tackle these challenges together. See you soon!”

Gosselin is following in his estranged mother’s footsteps by appearing on Special Forces. Kate Gosselin competed in season 1 in 2023 but had to withdraw after suffering an injury during the first challenge. 

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 5 premieres Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
