Why Crispin Glover Isn’t Married or Having Kids
Crispin Glover, the veteran actor best known for playing George McFly in Back to the Future, is the subject of intense headlines in early 2026. This time, a civil lawsuit has rocked the entertainment world. A former girlfriend identified only as Jane Doe filed a complaint in California. She alleged battery, fraud, emotional distress, wrongful eviction, and other serious claims. Now, we’re looking back at Glover’s personal life, and he once mentioned why he never had children. And it could also explain why he never got married.
Crispin Glover once explained why he never got married or had kids of his own
Despite a long career in film and the arts, Crispin Glover, 61, has kept his personal life relatively private. And he has never been married or had children.
Over the years, Glover has dated several women in the entertainment and modeling world. These included singer Jessicka in the early 2000s, Penthouse model Alexa Lauren, Russian model Marina Drujko, and television actress Courtney Peldon, according to Who’s Dated Who. Other reported relationships include early‑career romances with Michelle Meyrink and connections with internet personality Trisha Paytas and actress Fairuza Balk, among others. However, details remain sparse and are often discussed more in celebrity reporting than in extensive personal interviews.
In 2015, Glover spoke to The Guardian regarding his decision to stay unmarried and not have children. At the time, he spent about four months every year in Los Angeles and four months in the Czech Republic. He then spent an additional four months touring the world with his work. For this reason, he never settled down, as he spent too much time on the road.
“I’ve never been close to having children,” he admitted. “I’m on the road so much, but if I had children, it would be something that I’d want to be present for, and I feel like I would not be present.” He also noted that he’d “never been close to getting married,” likely for a similar reason.
It’s unclear if the actor is dating anyone in 2026, as he remains private regarding his personal relationships.
One of the actor’s exes accused him of holding her captive in a 2026 lawsuit
In early 2026, Crispin Glover is at the center of a high‑profile civil lawsuit. The suit was filed in California by a former partner identified only as Jane Doe. The complaint, filed in the Superior Court of California, accuses Glover of a range of serious civil claims, including battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of California’s Bane Act, according to USA Today.
In her filing, the complainant alleges that Glover lured her from the United Kingdom to Los Angeles with promises of housing and work as his assistant. The relationship allegedly turned controlling and exploitative after she relocated in early 2024. The lawsuit asserts that she was made financially and socially dependent, subjected to undue control over her movements, and suffered physical assault. Jane Doe claims Glover grabbed her neck, leaving visible marks. She also said that Glover filed a restraining order against her after lying about the incident. The restraining order was dismissed.
She is seeking a jury trial and monetary damages, including compensation for emotional distress and legal fees.
A representative for Glover responded to the lawsuit.
“Mr. Glover denies these baseless allegations in the strongest possible terms,” they told TMZ. “The reality is that on March 2, 2024, Mr. Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles residence. Mr. Glover called LAPD, which came to the scene, investigated, and arrested Jane Doe. These facts are documented by law enforcement records and by the restraining order filed by Mr. Glover against Jane Doe at that time.”
