Will There Be a ‘Cross’ Season 3? Amazon Reveals Fate of Prime Video Series With Aldis Hodge
[Warning: This article contains spoilers for Cross Season 2.]
Aldis Hodge’s Alex Cross isn’t going anywhere.
On Wednesday, Prime Video announced that it had renewed its hit thriller series Cross for a third season. The news came the same day that the show’s season 2 finale dropped on Amazon’s streaming service.
Fans of Cross are likely to breathe a sigh of relief at the renewal news, considering that the second season of Cross ended on a major cliffhanger. In the finale, a disillusioned Cross hands in his badge, having lost his faith in the justice system.
While it’s not clear if the detective will eventually return to the police force, chances are, something will draw him back in. In a press release, Amazon promised that the next season “will continue to expand the high-stakes world of the iconic character, building on the show’s gripping storytelling and powerful performances.”
“From the beginning, Cross has captivated audiences with its layered characters, pulse-pounding suspense, and emotionally grounded storytelling,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “Aldis has delivered a definitive portrayal of Alex Cross, anchoring the series with depth, intelligence, and heart. We’re thrilled to continue this journey with Ben, our collaborators at Paramount Television Studios, and the rest of the incredible cast to bring even more of James Patterson’s iconic world to our global Prime Video audience.”
Cross, which premiered in November 2024, is based on a series of best-selling novels by James Patterson. In addition to Hodge, the show stars Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill.
Cross Seasons 1-2 are streaming on Prime Video.
