It appears that family and friends were aware she was involved with an adult male or had heard rumors that she was in a romantic relationship with an adult. After her body was discovered in September, friends, family, and even teachers stepped forward to discuss her link to the TikTok star and the grooming that went into their relationship before she began running away. Rivas Hernandez appeared with D4vd in TikTok Live events, popped up in photos with the singer, and met his friends. He was not hiding the romance, though several former friends claim D4vd told everyone Celeste was college-aged.
