Jonathan Majors’ attempt at a career comeback hit a setback when he was involved in an accident while filming his upcoming action movie

The actor, who was once poised to become a major star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fell six feet through an unsupported tempered glass window on the South Carolina set of The Daily Wire film, Deadline reported on Friday.

A clip obtained by the outlet shows Majors and his co-star JC Kilcoyne moving backwards as they face fake gunfire, then tumbling through the window. Kilcoyne reportedly required stitches in his hands after the incident, but his reps told Deadline that he “did not feel unsafe on set.” Majors was apparently unharmed.

“I’m OK,” he told TMZ. “I was happy to be on set and help tell the story. I am grateful for whoever is checking on me, the cast and crew for regarding our safety. It’s going to be a great movie and I am looking forward to fans seeing it!”

The accident on the set of the film from the right-wing media company The Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier’s Bonfire Legend occurred roughly a week after multiple crew members went on strike due to concerns about safety. Issues included falling props and a rigged tree branch that hit a set medic. Workers on the movie were also worried about a set that was infested with black mold, sources told Deadline.

“They didn’t really care about the long-term effects on the crew,” a former set laborer said. “I don’t think it even crossed their minds, because they’re so inept.”

Prior to the strike, more than 60% of the crew signed card indicating they wanted a collective bargaining agreement with IATSE, the union representing behind-the-scenes entertainment industry workers.

Sonnier slammed the workers’ attempts to unionize.

“The entire industry is in freefall due to strikes, and now that their members are out of work, they’re trying to sabotage the few people who are still producing. We don’t negotiate with communists,” he told Deadline.

Previously, Sonnier had mocked the crew’s concerns about safety on the set of the film. He told Deadline that he and the other producers were “too busy being bad asses, blowing sh*t up, flying helicopters, and killing movie terrorists to concern ourselves with four assholes with signs on the sidewalk and their illegitimate ‘strike.’”

Jonathan Majors attempts career comeback

Majors’ latest project is written and directed by Kyle Rankin, who previously directed the 2020 Daily Wire film Run Hide Fight. The untiled action flick is reportedly in the vein of ‘80s films like Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers.

The movie will be the actor’s first major role since his December 2023 assault conviction stemming from a domestic violence incident involving his then-girlfriend. That incident led to Majors losing his role as Kang in the MCU.

While Majors has struggled to find roles in mainstream films and TV following his conviction, The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend have no issue working with him. Both companies have a history of embracing controversial actors, including Gina Carano, who lost her role on The Mandalorian following a series of controversial social media posts during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Vincent Gallo. Sonnier also recently produced 2025’s Frontier Crucible, which marked Armie Hammer’s first screen appearance following his infamous “cannibal” scandal.

In a 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Majors said he was hoping to continue acting, despite his troubled past.

“Do I hope to make more movies? Absolutely,” he said. “That is my intention. But that’s not my call. I don’t have a studio. And I’ve given up control.”
