Dakota Mortensen has been cut from the new season of Vanderpump Villa amid the drama with his ex, Taylor Frankie Paul.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast member was set to appear in the third season of Lisa Vanderpump’s Hulu reality series. Instead, he’ll be edited out of the upcoming episodes, Deadline reported on Friday.

Vanderpump Villa Season 3 premieres April 16. This season follows the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum as she returns home to England, where she’ll welcome a new group of guests to her countryside retreat.

Mortensen was one of several SLOMW stars, including Jordan Ngatikaura, Chase McWhorter, Mason McWhorter, Zac Affleck, and Jacob Neeley, who filmed for the new season of Vanderpump Villa. But after reports of a domestic violence incident in February 2026 between him and Paul surfaced, producers decided it was better to remove Mortensen entirely.

Vanderpump opened up to People about the reason for the change.

“We don’t want to shine a spotlight on something that’s been so controversial when we have so much great content,” she said. “Our show’s ready to go. Obviously, we don’t want to do anything extraordinarily significant at this stage in the game, but it’s ready to go.”

Mortensen “didn’t really have a big storyline,” Vanderpump said, which means that viewers won’t really notice his absence in the new season.

“We’ve got so much ‘feel good factor’ and so much story content anyway,” she said. “The visuals are beautiful, the stories are complicated. There’s a lot of humor in it, there’s a lot of funny, sexy time and it’s a great show. It’s great entertainment.”

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ star will appear in ‘Unwell Winter Games’

Police in Draper, Utah, have confirmed that they are investigating a domestic assault incident between Paul and Mortensen, and that “allegations have been made in both directions.” The February incident comes roughly three years after a 2023 incident between the pair that led to Paul pleading guilty to aggravated assault. Video of that altercation was published by TMZ in March 2026. Soon after, ABC announced that it would indefinitely delay Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, which was set to premiere later that month. Filming on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 has also been paused.

While Mortensen won’t appear in Vanderpump Villa, he does have another reality TV project on deck. He’s part of Unwell Winter Games, a new YouTube competition series that also features other infamous media personalities, including scammer Anna Delvey and Too Hot to Handle bad boy Louis Russell. It premieres April 6.
