Danity Kane Announces Comeback Tour After Diddy Trial
Danity Kane was one of the defining girl groups of the mid-2000s, known for their sharp choreography and powerhouse vocals. Formed by Sean “Diddy” Combs on MTV’s Making the Band 3 in 2005, the group originally featured Aubrey O’Day, Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, and D. Woods. With hits like “Show Stopper” and “Damaged,” Danity Kane made history as the first female group in Billboard history to debut their first two albums at No. 1. Now, the girl group is making a comeback with a reunion tour after Combs’ high-profile trial. Here’s what to know.
Danity Kane announced their comeback tour, ‘The Untold Chapter’
The end of Danity Kane was as dramatic as their rise to fame. After years of tension within the group and mounting issues with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, the cracks began to show following their 2008 Welcome to the Dollhouse tour. Creative disagreements and questions of loyalty led to a televised confrontation on Making the Band 4, where Sean “Diddy” Combs announced the group’s disbandment. Although members like Aubrey O’Day and Dawn Richard later attempted reunions in 2014 and 2018, each comeback was short-lived due to lingering conflicts and communication breakdowns. By the late 2010s, Danity Kane had effectively dissolved.
However, three of the original five members are officially returning for a reunion tour. On Oct. 15, 2025, Danity Kane announced their return with “The Untold Chapter” tour, which will visit cities in California, Connecticut, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New York.
“The world has heard the music.
The world has seen the headlines.
But the truth… has never been told,” their Instagram post caption reads.
“Now, in a moment that no one saw coming, three voices from one of the most iconic girl groups of the 21st century are stepping back onto the stage together. Which three? That’s the mystery. And it’s part of the fire that has fans and critics buzzing: who will it be, and what will they reveal?”
The post goes on to state that the tour “isn’t just a concert,” but rather, “it’s a reckoning.”
“With setlists reshaped, confessions revealed, and moments that will never happen the same way twice, this tour promises to leave audiences shaken, inspired, and forever changed,” the caption states.
Dawn Richard will not return for the Danity Kane tour
So, which three members of Danity Kane will return for the reunion tour? While the Instagram post aims to keep the three members a surprise, fans know that Dawn Richard won’t be among them.
“I am not a part of this,” Richard previously posted to X, according to That Grape Juice. “I have not heard about it nor knew about it. Sending everyone love.”
This leaves Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, and D. Woods. In the past, Danity Kane operated without D. Woods, which may make fans wonder if O’Day, Bex, and Fimbres are the trio to return in the comeback tour.
In 2013, Danity Kane reformed as a four-member group without original member D. Woods. The reunion officially kicked off during the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show, where the four announced their return and revealed plans for new music on their own terms. Despite this, D. Woods made it clear she would not be involved. She said her absence was due to commitments to her solo projects and expressed well wishes for the group’s success.
Aubrey O’Day remains outspoken about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs post-trial
Aubrey O’Day isn’t afraid to share her feelings about working under Sean “Diddy” Combs. Before and during his trial, she spoke out about the suffering she endured as a Danity Kane member. After the trial, she posted a “cautionary reminder” to young artists.
“Let this serve as a cautionary reminder to young and aspiring individuals pursuing their dreams,” she posted on X. “The true warning is not that a jury may doubt your testimony, nor that a court’s sentencing guidelines may fail to reflect the years of suffering you endured. The real warning is this: the moment someone in a position of power oversteps your boundaries or demands more than is legitimately required of you, walk away and do not look back.”
