Diddy and Kim Porter’s Son, Quincy Brown, Once Thought They’d ‘Maybe’ Get Back Together
Quincy Brown is the son of the late model Kim Porter and singer Al B. Sure!. Though raised by his mother, he developed a close relationship with hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, Porter’s partner, who became a father figure to him. Brown has pursued a multifaceted career in the entertainment industry as an actor, singer, and model, and he continues to show support for Combs during the 2025 trial. Now, we’re looking back at the time when Brown answered whether he thought Combs and Porter might get back together.
Quincy Brown once answered a reporter who asked if he thought Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and mom Kim Porter would get back together
Sean “Diddy” Combs and Kim Porter shared a decades-long, on-again, off-again relationship that endured public ups and downs. The pair began dating in the 1990s and had three children together — Christian, and twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie. Combs also became a father figure to Porter’s son, Quincy Brown, whom she had with Al B. Sure!.
Though they officially ended their romantic relationship in 2007, Diddy and Porter remained close co-parents and confidants. Porter was widely regarded as the heart of their blended family, and her sudden passing from pneumonia at age 47 in 2018 left a lasting impact on Combs, who has spoken publicly about the profound grief and regret he felt in the years following her death.
Brown was once asked by an interviewer whether he believed Porter and Combs would ever get back together. The interview was posted to YouTube in 2015 and likely took place around this time.
“We see things with Puff and your mom, and we’re look, oh, this could happen again. We love that couple!” the reporter told Brown at an event. “Do you see that happening?”
“Anything could happen,” Brown, who was around 23 at the time, admitted. “You know, of course, they’re going to have love for each other for eternity. Of course, share kids, and it’s like, we’re a big, happy family. But as far as, you know …,” he added while clapping his hands together, “I don’t know! You know, maybe. We’ll see. We’re all happy, so that’s all that matters.”
Brown noted he didn’t care about how his mother and Combs labeled their relationship. “It’s all about having good relationships and being each other’s friends more than anything,” he continued. “So, it’s not about the label.”
