Diddy Might Get Presidential Pardon If Convicted, Trump Says
Donald Trump would be willing to consider a pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs if the rapper is convicted, he said on Friday.
Donald Trump would ‘look at the facts’ of Diddy’s case

Diddy is currently on trial in New York on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He has pleaded not guilty.
A verdict in the high-profile case is not expected until sometime in early July. But if the hip-hop mogul is found guilty, Trump is open to reviewing the case, he said.
“I don’t know. I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me wouldn’t have any impact,” the president told reporters in the Oval Office on May 30 (via Deadline).
Trump said he hadn’t been closely following the trial, which is playing out in a New York City courtroom. He added that he’d previously had a friendly relationship with the Bad Boy Records founder. But that had soured in recent years.
“I’d look at what’s happening, and I haven’t been watching it too closely, although it’s certainly getting a lot of coverage,” Trump said. “I haven’t seen him. I haven’t seen him. I haven’t spoken to him in years. He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, sort of that relationship busted up.”
While no one has reached out about a potential pardon, the president said he believed people close to Diddy were considering the move.
“I know they’re thinking about it,” he said. “I think people have been very close to asking.”
Trump has pardoned other celebrities, including Todd and Julie Chrisley
Trump has signed a number of pardons for well-known individuals during his time in the White House. Earlier this week, he pardoned Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted of running a multi-million-dollar fraud scheme. Soon after, he pardoned rapper NBA YoungBoy, who had been sentenced on gun charges.
In February 2025, Trump granted a full pardon to disgraced Illinois governor (and former Celebrity Apprentice contestant) Rod Blagoevich, who served time in prison for trying to sell Barack Obama’s senate seat. In 2020, he’d commuted Blagojevich’s sentence, freeing the ex-politician from prison.
Trump has also pardoned Anchorman and Bob’s Burgers actor Jay Johnston, who was serving time in prison after being convicted for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black received pardons at the end of Trump’s first term.
