Diddy Spotted Speaking to NBA Player Sebastian Telfair Behind Bars
When hip‑hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs found himself behind the gates of Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn, when he was taken into federal custody in September 202. Situated in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, this facility has earned a reputation as one of the toughest lockups in the country. Now, Combs is incarcerated at New Jersey’s Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix. It seems he found a familiar face while there. Here’s what to know about his surprising conversation with former NBA player Sebastian Telfair.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was spotted talking to former NBA player Sebastian Telfair at FCI Fort Dix
After beginning his sentence at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, Sean “Diddy” Combs was recently transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey, according to People. The move, according to his legal team, was requested to provide him with access to drug‑treatment programs and improved conditions. This includes more opportunities for family visitation, which were limited at MDC Brooklyn. Fort Dix, a low‑security federal facility, is considered more suitable for long-term rehabilitation programs. The transfer has been framed as a step to ensure Combs can serve his sentence in a safer, more structured environment while receiving necessary support.
It appears Combs saw a friendly face while at the new location. Photos from TMZ show Combs speaking to former NBA player Sebastian Telfair. The pictures show Combs, Telfair, and other inmates hanging out together in the prison yard on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025.
Telfair, the one‑time basketball phenom whose career began with high school acclaim and a first‑round NBA selection in 2004, is now facing prison time. In 2021, he was named among 18 former NBA players accused of defrauding the league’s health and welfare benefit plan of roughly $3.9 million, according to Complex. About $2.5 million was alleged to have been obtained through false claims.
Telfair pleaded guilty in March 2023 to his role in the fraud case. He was originally sentenced to three years of supervised release with restitution obligations. However, this summer, a federal judge found that he violated the terms of his supervised release. He reportedly failed to complete community service and maintain regular contact with his probation officer.
Sebastian Telfair commented on the abuse allegations against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Former NBA star Sebastian Telfair spoke about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ case well before the two were seen speaking behind bars. Telfair insinuated that he wasn’t sure why some of Combs’ employees stayed in their positions under such severe alleged abuse. But he admitted he didn’t know exactly what went down.
As for Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and Combs, Telfair commented on the hotel abuse video. “Every dude is wrong for that,” Telfair said on VladTV. He then said that “females would drive” some men to “do that to them.” He then clarified that he never got into a physical altercation with his wife of 17 years, but he did experience physical altercations with much shorter, more aggressive relationships.
Both the mogul and the NBA player allegedly requested pardons from President Donald Trump
Sebastian Telfair asked President Donald Trump for a pardon.
“Trump,” he told TMZ, “go check in on my story and you’re definitely going to want to pardon me. You’ll hold me accountable and want me to continue to go do good. But I did too good to being sending anybody to jail.”
According to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyer, they also reached out to Trump for a potential pardon. “It’s my understanding that we reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” the lawyer told CNN.
While Combs gets situated at FCI Fort Dix, only time will tell whether his pardon request is granted.
