Diddy’s Wild 2010 Chelsea Handler Interview Resurfaces — Awkward Jokes and ‘So High’ Rumors Included
Mia, a former personal assistant to hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, has become a key witness in the mounting legal scrutiny facing the music mogul. In recently released testimony, Mia provided a detailed account of her time working for Combs, alleging knowledge of — and in some cases, direct exposure to — behavior that may prove critical to ongoing investigations. In her testimony, she noted that Combs was “so high” during an interview with Chelsea Handler. Here’s what else happened during the resurfaced onscreen interview.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Kalenna Harper, and Dawn Richard interviewed with Chelsea Handler in 2010
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-assistant, Mia, testified during his trial that Combs would get “so high” during “inappropriate times.”
“Like one time was a board meeting, one time was going to the Chelsea Handler show,” she explained, according to DailyMail.com. “There were just a few times where I was like, ‘Oh, gosh, when am I going to have to pull him to the side and say you look a little crazy at the moment?'”
Mia didn’t verify that Combs had done drugs before his appearance on Handler’s show in 2010. However, resurfaced clips grabbed the media’s attention. Combs, Kalenna Harper, and Dawn Richard — the members of Combs’ trio, Diddy — Dirty Money, formed in 2009 — arrived on the talk show together to speak about their project.
Combs’ behavior seems off from the start of the interview, as he arrived an hour late. “That’s a very nice dress you have on,” he tells Chandler as she jokingly asks for his name.
Handler then asks about the group. Harper allows for a sexual joke to ensue.
“This is a group — but not a thing like that,” Harper says to Handler, receiving laughs.
“No, not sexual,” Handler verifies, to which Richard replies, “Only if you’re involved. That’s what I’ve been waiting on!”
“Oh, I like that, thank you!” Handler jokes. “There are so many opportunities in my position.”
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs said he knows Chelsea Handler ‘heard stories’ about him
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ interview with Chelsea Handler continues to take uncomfortable turns with Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard by his side.
“All this is not gonna work,” Combs tells Handler somewhat incoherently. “I mean, all of what you’re doing right now. You just need to come on and give in, baby. It’s alright. … I mean, you’ve never met me; I know you’ve heard different stories and things about me, but this is live in the living color. And this love thing, you gotta understand, for me, it’s like my kryptonite. It’s like, I haven’t been successful at it, but it’s like, I need it.”
Handler cracks up and looks amused as Combs confesses how romance typically doesn’t work out for him in his life.
“I get it, I get it,” Handler notes. “You need it. You need it.”
Kalenna Harper denied some of Dawn Richard’s claims about the hip-hop mogul
Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard rose to prominence as members of Diddy — Dirty Money and quickly stood out for their vocal chemistry and creative ambition, helping to shape the critically acclaimed Last Train to Paris album. After the group disbanded, both artists pursued solo careers. Despite their separate paths, their time together remains a defining chapter, especially as Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial plays out.
Harper publicly denied any knowledge or support of the claims made by Richard in Richard’s 2024 lawsuit against Combs. In a brief but firm statement, Harper distanced herself from the allegations, stating that her personal experiences with Combs during their time in Diddy — Dirty Money did not reflect the accusations outlined in Richard’s filing.
“I acknowledge the recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard in which my name has been mentioned 33 times,” Harper posted to her Instagram Stories, according to People. “While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, l want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved.”
