Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out Season 2 premieres April 20 on Lifetime.
“I’m back on Lifetime for season 2,” Lee says in a teaser (via YouTube) for the new season. “This time, I’ve got some amazing new dermatologists. And the pops are better than ever.”
In Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out’s second season, Lee and her team will tackle “never-before-seen cases that push the limits of dermatology, delivering life-changing transformations and emotional journeys that go far beyond the surface,” according to Lifetime.
Lee is committed to both mentoring a new generation of doctors as well as helping patients restore their confidence and improve their lives. But her job comes with real difficulties, and this season, she “encounters an unexpected challenge that could change everything.”
The trailer hints at the drama, with Lee saying she has to “stop everything” before a man tells someone to “call 9-1-1, quick.”
“We don’t know how she is, but it’s pretty bad,” a person informs Lee’s staff.
Fans cheered the news that Lee would soon be back on their TV screens.
“Can’t wait for this season!!!!” one person commented on Instagram.
“FINALLY!!!! Screaming, crying and (most of all) throwing up,” another wrote.
Dr. Sandra Lee compared her popping videos to ‘a car accident’
Lee started out sharing her pimple popping videos on YouTube in the mid-2010s before making the leap to reality TV in 2018. In a 2019 interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, she reflected on the strange popularity of her clips of often-nauseating skin extractions.
“I think the reason is people are initially attracted to it like a car accident, where you can’t look away,” she said. “Like something really strange and different. But in fact, it ends up being where people are actually proud to be part of something that is so heartfelt. It makes people feel good, which is so interesting.”
Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out Season 2 premieres Monday, April 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
