Eric Dane, the beloved Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria actor, died at age 53 after battling ALS. Though he and actress Rebecca Gayheart had lived separately for years following their 2018 separation, the pair remained legally married and committed to co-parenting their two daughters. In the months before his death, Gayheart and their children spent significant time at Dane’s home, which was located a short drive from her own. Now, we’re taking a look back at Dane and Gayheart’s farmhouse-style home, which they bought in Beverly Hills in 2010. Here’s what to know about the residence.

Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart’s relationship was a long and evolving partnership. The pair met in the early 2000s and married in 2004, later welcoming two daughters, Billie and Georgia. After about 14 years together, Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018 amid irreconcilable differences. Despite the legal split, they remained close, frequently spending time together with their family and maintaining a supportive friendship. In March 2025, shortly before Dane publicly announced his ALS diagnosis, Gayheart requested that the court dismiss the divorce petition.

Back in June 2010, the couple acquired a contemporary country farmhouse-style residence in the prestigious Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood of Los Angeles. They reportedly paid around $2.4 million for the 3,602-square-foot property, according to the Real Estate Agent Property blog.

The farmhouse-inspired house was built in the early 2000s. It blended rustic charm and upscale California style. Nestled against a hillside off a quieter canyon road, the home featured four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The blog notes how the home had a front-facing two-car garage, with potted dwarf fruit trees lining the driveway.

It was designed with traditional farmhouse elements, like wide-plank floors, exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, multiple fireplaces made from river rocks, and expansive French doors leading outdoors. The kitchen featured beadboard-accented cabinets and countertops made from black granite and butcher blocks. The center island and breakfast counter had a pot rack hanging over the top.

Its outdoor space included a wrap-around covered porch and a deck off the master bedroom on the second floor. Dane and Gayheart also got the chance to enjoy a pool, a spa, a fire pit, and an open-air cabana. The pergola offered shade over their barbecue.

The actor discussed his favorite room in the house — a $150,000 recording studio

In 2016, Eric Dane discussed the 150-square-foot recording space he had in his Beverly Hills farmhouse.

“It’s my hobby,” he told the Los Angeles Times of his favorite room. “I love everything about music, and I love making music. We’re a pretty musical family, but we are closeted musicians.” The actor noted how he played a variety of electronic instruments, including the keyboard.

“It’s purely a creative space,” he said of the room. “There are no deadlines. There are no have-tos. It’s just something I do for me.”

Dane said he had an “old Irish guy” from a famous recording studio in Santa Monica help him with building the room. The most important aspect of the studio was ensuring that the sound was good.

“The initial build took about a month,” he said. “But it’s taken about five years to accumulate all the stuff I needed to get it right. So, I have bass traps, wall panels, diffusers, and Gobos [wall partitions on wheels that can be moved around], and all kinds of fun stuff that makes no sense to most people and rarely makes sense to me.”

Dane said he had about $150,000 invested into the space.
