‘Euphoria’ Star Dominic Fike Wants to Date His Exes: ‘I’d Like to Try Again’
Dominic Fike charmed Euphoria fans in season 2 with the introduction of his character, Elliot. Elliot enters a love triangle with Rue, played by Zendaya, and Jules, played by his real-life ex, Hunter Schafer. And fans can’t wait to see what happens in season 3. Recently, Fike opened up about having a son. And in a separate interview, he noted that he wants his exes to reach out, as he’d love to try dating again. Here’s what he said.
‘Euphoria’ star Dominic Fike is open to dating his exes
Dominic Fike, the Euphoria Season 2 star and singer-songwriter known for hits like 3 Nights and Moshpit, has a relatively private personal life. However, fans of the HBO series remember when he dated Hunter Schafer. The two met on the set of Euphoria and carried their on-screen relationship into real life in 2022. Fike confirmed the romance that year. Unfortunately, just a year later, the pair split.
Since the split, Shafer has publicly spoken out about Fike’s alleged cheating and how the romance affected her. And it seems like Fike might be willing to give his romance with Shafer another go. In an interview with Genius, he said he’d like to “try again” with any of his exes.
First, Fike explained how his song, “Babydoll,” told a story of unrequited love in his life. “I just put women up here,” Fike noted, creating a pedestal motion with his hands, “especially if I have a thing for them. I’m just like, I’m putting them on a pedestal. And that’s actually a problem with my relationships.”
Later, Fike noted that he “never” moves on from an ex. “So, if you’re still out there, any one of you, please,” he continued. “God, I’m getting old, and I don’t know. Maybe it’s not in the cards for me, I don’t know, but I’d like to try again. So, please reach out.”
Hunter Shafer previously opened up about Dominic Fike cheating on her
In August 2024, Hunter Shafer opened up on the Call Her Daddy podcast about her past romance with Dominic Fike. She noted that before they broke up after a year of dating, he had cheated on her.
“Part of why the relationship ended is because I got cheated on for the first time,” she said. “It’s part of my truth, but that fundamentally changed me as a person.”
Shafer said that she initially blamed herself. However, she later accepted that it had nothing to do with her.
“As a trans woman, with a man who has never dated that [type of person] before,” she said. “Because of the way I’ve been socialized as a trans woman, it’s been this crux in my life of what life has been so hard sometimes, I was like, ‘Oh, god, is this it? Can I just not?'”
Despite the infidelity, Shafer said she and Fike both agreed to call it quits.
“That breakup was mutually agreed upon,” she said. “And it was one of the cleaner breakups I’ve had, like we both recognize that this is not working, and we can’t do this. We gotta go our own separate ways. It was a clean parting, and he has a lot to work on, and I also have a lot to work on.”
The singer/songwriter has a son who’s almost 2
In April 2026, Dominic Fike sat down with Pigeons & Planes to discuss his music and how he navigates success. He also discussed fatherhood.
“I got a son, Rocket. He’s almost 2,” Fike explained. “He motivates me to be stable and sober, for one, and better about that, about my debauchery and stuff. But, he makes me want to write songs for people his age. He makes me want to acquire property for him to grow up in, and also stay close to my friends, so he has friends to grow up with. He makes me want to make sure my reputation is OK, so I can still go into school meetings and not have to be shunned from the PTA thingy because I’m a psycho.”
