Fans Can’t Believe Jesse Eisenberg’s Real Magic Skills — He Actually Pulled This Off in NYC!
Jesse Eisenberg is officially making his long-awaited return as master illusionist J. Daniel Atlas in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the next chapter in Lionsgate’s hit magic-heist franchise. Eisenberg reprises his witty, charming role with a fresh twist as the Horsemen face an all-new set of high-stakes illusions and criminal masterminds. Eisenberg’s return is already generating major buzz across entertainment media. And his recent stunt in New York City alongside magician Noah Levine has fans more excited than ever to see the new film.
Jesse Eisenberg and New York-based magician Noah Levine performed a magic trick for the public
Jesse Eisenberg is pulling out all the stops to promote his upcoming film, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. A clip posted to X shows Eisenberg at Hudson Yards in New York City on Oct. 25 with New York-based magician Noah Levine. The actor, best known for portraying illusionist J. Daniel Atlas in the blockbuster franchise, interacted with fans, performing spontaneous magic routines that left onlookers cheering. Witnesses shared videos across TikTok and Instagram, sparking viral buzz and reigniting excitement for the film’s release.
“Can I see your hands for a sec?” Eisenberg asks a volunteer, who then puts her hands with palms facing up in front of her. The actor then inspects the volunteer’s hands, asking her to check under her watch. She then shows the card to the large crowd, who laugh in awe in response.
“That was amazing,” Eisenberg says. “But, even more amazing than that is all the cards Noah gave out; those are actually tickets. You’re going to be the very first people to see Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.”
The crowd goes absolutely wild over the reveal that they get to see in a special viewing of the new film.
Jesse Eisenberg is incredibly ‘gracious’ with his fans
Jesse Eisenberg loves to interact with fans, especially when promoting new projects. A fan on Reddit noted that the Now You See Me: Now You Don’t actor was personable and present during a test screening for the new film.
“I was at a test screening in August for the new movie he wrote/directed, and he was there taking notes,” the fan explained. “After it was over, he stuck around and talked to everyone in the lobby about the movie and just anything they wanted to chat about, and also took pictures. He couldn’t have been more gracious. Seemed like a really cool guy who absolutely loves making movies.”
Unfortunately, not every fan was this receptive to Eisenberg’s street magic. Some X users noted that the street magic aspect appeared gimmicky, as if people needed to be”tricked” to see the film.
He also explained how he performed a magic trick for a child after his NYC park stunt
While talking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jesse Eisenberg explained how he’s not a good magician. However, he came up with a new trick on the fly while at his son’s school.
“I was volunteering at my kid’s school this weekend, and this very sweet 10-year-old boy, Layvin, ran up to me, and he said, ‘Now You See Me is my favorite movie. Can you do a trick for me?'” Eisenberg explained. “And normally I say, ‘Oh, no, but it’s nice to meet you. Let’s take a picture,’ or something like this — something dismissive to the children.”
He then noted how he had a folded card in his show following the magic tricks in the park. Eisenberg said he made up a trick “on the spot” having to do with the card, and he then tried the trick on Jimmy Fallon, which worked. Fallon praised the trick as “really good” despite Eisenberg initially explaining how it wasn’t good or complex.
