Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker welcomed their son, Rocky Thirteen Barker, on Nov. 1, 2023, marking the newest addition to the Kardashian-Jenner family. As the couple’s first child together, Rocky joins a blended family that includes Kourtney’s older children: Mason Dash, 15, Penelope Scotland, 13, and Reign Aston, 10. Travis also has three other kids: Landon, 21, Alabama, 19, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 25. Kourtney and Travis have no issue showing their son to the world. But fans noticed that Kourtney shielded Rocky’s head from the paparazzi in a recent photo. Here’s what they had to say about the matter.

Fans have opinions about Kourtney Kardashian shielding son Rocky Thirteen’s face from paparazzi

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker were overjoyed to welcome baby Rocky Thirteen Barker to the world in November 2023. The couple has given fans rare glimpses of Rocky Thirteen, from bundled-up trips during family vacations to Disneyland outings for his first birthday, showcasing their dedication to creating memorable family moments. With both Kourtney and Travis balancing busy entertainment careers, Rocky remains at the center of their lives. While paparazzi attempt to get a glimpse of the baby, Kourtney consistently shields Rocky’s face from the cameras.

Fans on Reddit noticed how Kourtney and Travis consistently bring Rocky into the public eye while trying to shield his face from the cameras. Several fans praised the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star for trying to protect her child’s identity. However, others noted that this seemed like a double standard, given that Kourtney brought her other children into the public eye at a young age.

“It makes total sense that she covers his face, but somehow feels like a double standard when she didn’t care about her other kids being televised for years,” a fan commented.

“Not a single one of those kids deserves to have their faces shown on camera,” another fan wrote.

Other fans gave Kourtney grace, as they believe she knows more as a parent now than she did with her other three kids.

“She’s allowed to change and try to be a better parent … actually, it’s good that she’s trying,” another fan wrote. “She mentioned before how Mason hates being in the spotlight on social media, etc. So, she’s trying to be better to her youngest.”

Kourtney Kardashian knows that some fans think she doesn’t spend as much time with the three kids she shares with Scott Disick as she does with her and Travis Barker’s son, Rocky Thirteen. However, she refuted this claim on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. She explained that she doesn’t “love to post” her kids online if she can help it.

“I see comments all the time that I’m never with my kids, and I just don’t love to post my kids on social media,” she said in February 2025.

She then noted that her oldest child, Mason, “doesn’t want any part of it.” Instead, the teen prefers to live a life away from the spotlight.

“He doesn’t love it,” Kourtney said. “I want my kids to be kids. I crave normalcy as much as we can have it.”

Travis Barker previously said he wished he had kept his older kids out of the spotlight

In September 2024, Travis Barker spoke to The Wall Street Journal about keeping photos of Rocky Thirteen out of the media.

“Unfortunately, someone finally got a photo of him, but we’d rather keep him out of the spotlight,” he shared. He then noted that he wished he had experienced these same thoughts for his other kids while they grew up.

“If I could do everything different, I would have done the same thing with my [older] kids,” he continued, adding, “I think it’s weird to grow up and you’re 15 or 12, and you’re like, ‘Mom, you posted this of me?'”
