The farmers have made their decisions. In the May 22 finale of Fox’s Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3, Farmer John, Farmer Colton, Farmer Matt, and Farmer Jay decided which of their two remaining ladies they’d like to invite back to their farm. But did those relationships last? One couple – Colton and Zoe – appear to have already broken up. However, other relationships seem to be going strong. John Sansone and Claire Dirette are still together, they’ve both confirmed.

Is ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ the Most Successful Reality Dating Show?

Heading into the Farmer Wants a Wife finale, John had narrowed his choice down to two women: Claire, a 24-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep originally from Michigan, and Lily Ayres, a 23-year-old sales manager from Kansas. Ultimately, the 25-year-old farmer and law student from Missouri decided Claire was the woman for him.

“Every day I’ve had the privilege of watching you come into your own. I admire your stoic attitude towards life,” he told her. “And you have just a calming presence. It really makes me feel happy, calm, and I really enjoy just having you around.”

“I think we can both agree that farm work isn’t your forte. But that’s OK, because that doesn’t even matter … You’ve surprised me every single day, and you continue to surprise me now. So, what do you say, Claire? You want to give this a shot?”

John’s choice shocked some Farmer Wants a Wife fans, who expected him to pick Lily. While John and Claire had an undeniable chemistry, they weren’t on the same page regarding some big life issues. John’s faith is important to him, but Claire isn’t religious. He also said he wants a woman who will embrace traditional gender roles, which Claire’s mother said she couldn’t imagine for her daughter.

John and Claire aren’t putting pressure on their romance

Despite some differences, John and Claire are committed to giving their relationship a shot. Social media posts from each of them indicate that they’re still together.

“What a ride, and couldn’t have asked for a better ending with an incredible girl,” John wrote on Instagram after the finale aired. A few days later, he shared a slideshow of photos of himself and Claire, indicating that the two were still an item. Claire has also shared photos of herself and John on social media post-finale.

While John and Claire are still in each other’s lives, they aren’t rushing their romance. She’s still living in Chicago, while he’s about five hours away in St. Louis.

“I think our biggest secret success is just doing this without any pressure whatsoever,” John told Swooon after his final pick was revealed. “The night after the finale, we were just talking, and we’re like, ‘Let’s just give this a try to see how it goes. Don’t put any expiration dates. Don’t put any requirements on it, just go at it day by day. I think that’s just one of the secrets to the success of our relationship.”

As for some of those big differences that viewers saw on TV? John and Claire have been working through them in a mature way, she said.

“The whole outcome of the show was a surprise for probably everyone, including ourselves,” she said. “We didn’t know how well we would get along, especially with our differences. And we get along so well. We communicate really well, and I think what we’ve learned from all of our conversations is that we were just raised so differently, and we’re both a product of that, so it hasn’t been hard to come to some sort of understanding of each other in those conversations.”
