If you’re a fan of professional tennis, then you know who Frances Tiafoe is. Chances are, you probably know who his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, is too as she can be found in the stands cheering on her man during all his matches.

The two have been together for more than a decade and share a unique understanding of the pressures that come with competing at a high level. That’s because Broomfield also played the sport. She competed in college at UCLA and won an NCAA doubles championship. She reached a singles ranking of No. 680 in 2015. Broomfield later expanded her work into content creation and initiatives aimed at making tennis more accessible and inclusive.

In an interview with the ATP Tour, Tiafoe described her as being crucial not only to his career but also to his life, saying, “The key to a very successful man is a strong woman … Sometimes they believe in you more than you believe in yourself. And that’s helped me a lot, so shout out to her. She’s been crucial not only for my career but for my life. She’s so solid. She’s been there for me for so many years, and happy to have her, very important.”

Broomfield has gushed over Tiafoe as well, saying, “I adore him. He’s my life partner, and I’m just so glad to have him in my life.”

Their shared background strengthens the bond they have that few others can understand. And fans can always see the intensity in Broomfield’s face as she watches Tiafoe’s biggest matches from the stands. However, their Life Path numbers reveal an “intensity gap” in their relationship, but that doesn’t mean they’re not compatible.

According to Numerologist.com, with Life Path numbers of 3 (Tiafoe) and 2 (Broomfield), there is an “intensity gap in their relationship. The 2 feels everything at high volume; the 3 moves through experience more lightly and quickly. This isn’t a character flaw in either person — it’s just how these two numbers process the world. The friction happens when the 3 moves on from something that the 2 is still carrying, without realizing the 2 is still carrying it. The solution is the 2 speaking up faster and the 3 slowing down enough to check in. Neither ask is huge. Both require conscious practice.

“The classical tradition marks this as a variable pairing — which in practice means it varies based on how well both people communicate. The 2’s emotional depth and the 3’s warmth and expressiveness are naturally complementary: one provides the attunement, the other provides the spark. When both people are honest about what they need — and the 3 develops enough attentiveness to catch the 2’s quieter signals — this pairing has real staying power and a lot of joy.”
