French Montana Once Joked He’d ‘Never’ Get Married Again Before Engagement to Dubai Princess
Rapper French Montana’s love life and friendships have often drawn as much attention as his music, especially his high-profile relationship with Khloé Kardashian and his long-standing bond with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Rapper French Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, has formally announced his engagement to Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a princess of Dubai and daughter of the emirate’s ruler and Prime Minister. According to TMZ, French proposed during Paris Fashion Week in June 2025 shortly after walking the runway for the 3.PARADIS Spring/Summer 2026 show.
Their relationship, however, had already been under the public eye since late 2024. The couple was seen together in Dubai while on tours, restaurant outings, mosque visits, and romantic strolls along Paris’ Pont des Arts. These outings suggested a deepening bond that would ultimately lead to an engagement that blends celebrity flair with royal elegance.
In July 2024, Sheikha previously made headlines worldwide by publicly announcing her divorce from her first husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed, via an Instagram post. “Dear Husband. As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I Divorce You,” she wrote in the now-deleted post at the time, according to The U.S. Sun. That marriage, which began in April 2023, produced a daughter in May 2024.
As for French, this marks his second marriage as well. He was previously married to Deen Kharbouch from 2007 to 2014. And they share a son born in 2010. His high-profile relationship with Khloé Kardashian in 2014 also remains one of the more public chapters in his romantic history.

In January 2025, French Montana spoke on The Angie Martinez Show about relationships. While on the show, Angie Martinez asked the rapper if he’d ever tie the knot after his first failed marriage.
“You’re never gonna get married. Are you gonna get married?” she said.
“Me? Yeah, I was already married,” French said.
“I know,” she added, “would you ever do that again?”
“Never,” he joked.
“Really?” she asked. “Never, ever?”
“Nah, I would,” he clarified. “… It’s just scary, because I said ‘never,’ but you never know, you might meet somebody. That’s the scary part about it. That goes back to what I was saying earlier. You’ll be like, ‘Never,’ then you just meet somebody.”
In another moment in the interview, Martinez asked the rapper if he “liked famous girls.”
“No,” he clarified. “Honestly, it doesn’t make a difference.”
The rapper said he had ‘real’ love for Khloé Kardashian
French Montana’s relationship with Khloé Kardashian may have been brief, but it became one of the most talked-about chapters in his personal life. The pair began dating in 2014, just months after Kardashian’s split from Lamar Odom, and their whirlwind romance quickly grabbed headlines. They were often spotted together at parties, red carpets, and even on family trips, where French seemed to seamlessly blend into the Kardashian world. Their relationship lasted less than a year, ending due to their busy schedules and Kardashian’s desire to focus on herself.
“Me and Khloé are always going to be friends, and the family still remains close,” he told Haute Living in 2019. “I feel like we had a real dope relationship — there was no bad blood, nobody did something to somebody that we couldn’t come back from. The love was real.”
