Funkmaster Flex States He’ll ‘Come Through’ and See Diddy at Madison Square Garden
Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial concluded on July 2, 2025, with a mixed verdict that has left the music mogul facing a significant legal crossroads. The jury acquitted him of the most serious charges — racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion — but convicted him on two counts of transportation for purposes of prostitution under the Mann Act. While he awaits sentencing, his lead lawyer has stated Combs’ hopes for the future. Here’s what Funkmaster Flex recently said in light of Combs’ hopes and dreams of playing at Madison Square Garden again.
Funkmaster Flex supports Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ dream of playing at Madison Square Garden post-trial
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lead lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told CBS Mornings about Combs’ next steps following his trial. While Combs may still face jail time, Agnifilo said that Combs wants the public to know that he’s “reflecting” on the trial outcome.
“He wants people to know that he has reflected on the blessings that he’s been given, on the imperfections that I think he sees in himself,” Agnifilo said. “I think he wants to get out of jail, reestablish a loving, present relationship with all of his seven children. He wants to take care of his mother.”
Agnifilo then noted that Combs will likely want to continue in the music industry eventually.
“One thing he said — he said he’s going to be back in Madison Square Garden,” Agnifilo recalled. ” … I guess being on stage. And I said I’ll be there.”
Funkmaster Flex commented on Diddy’s Madison Square Garden dream while playing Craig Mack’s 1994 song, “Flava in Ya Ear,” on Hot 97. The remix includes Combs, Rampage, The Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, and Busta Rhymes. And Combs’ label, Bad Boy Records, released the original song.
“This right here. Diddy, what’s going on, baby?” Funk said, according to Complex.
“I know you were talking about playing the Garden,” he continued. “I’ll come through.”
Previously, Funkmaster Flex commented on Combs’ trial. In July 2025, he posted to Instagram about Casandra “Cassie” Ventura’s involvement and suggested that she should “give it a rest.”
“I do think you and your lawyers should give it a rest,” Flex wrote. “You threatened to drop a book, then got paid out to not drop the book! (If you cared so much to get your message out, you would’ve dropped the book.) I get it … it’s a case …. You had to testify … you 30mil up and 10mil up from hotel! You plan this ‘lick,’ please don’t be mad at me, but I don’t see you as a ‘victim.’ You was young, Diddy made bad choices, and you made bad choices! When do u plan to teach girls not to make the same mistakes you made? Just my opinion!”
