Garrick and Dannielle Merrifield Court Another Brazilian Woman in New Season of ‘Seeking Sister Wife’
Dannielle and Garrick Merrifield are not giving up on their efforts to add another woman to their family. The aspiring polygamists are back in another season of TLC’s Seeking Sister Wife, which highlights their latest attempt to find another wife for Garrick.
Also returning in the sixth season of the reality series is the Davis family, who have seen some big changes since the last season of the show, which aired in 2024. Plus, three new families join the cast to share their stories of polygamous relationships.
Dannielle is still struggling with Garrick’s desire to pursue polygamy
Dannielle and Garrick joined the Seeking Sister Wife cast in season 3, which followed the couple as they legally divorced so that he could legally marry a Brazilian woman named Roberta. But their relationship eventually fell apart, as did one with a woman named Nathalia, who was also from Brazil. Despite those disappointments, Garrick hasn’t given up on his dream of finding a second wife. Meanwhile, Dannielle is still struggling to accept his desire to be with another woman.
This season, Garrick is engaged to Lorrana, who has come to the U.S. from Brazil on a K-1 visa. She and Garrick have 90 days to tie the knot. But after years of talk, is Dannielle really ready for wife No. 2?
“I’m happy for them, but it just makes me feel less tied to Garrick,” the tearful mom of three says in the trailer. “I don’t know why.”
A new woman joins the Davis family in ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Season 6
The Merrifields aren’t the only ones navigating the complexities of a polygamous marriage. Nick Davis is still happily married to April and Jenny Davis, and they’re preparing to welcome another baby to the mix. But Nick’s other wife Danielle has amicably left the family, leaving room in their giant bed. Could the space be filled by Teresa, a longtime platonic friend of the family? She is excited about taking the relationship to the next level, but he’s having issues with the transition from friend to wife.
“My last name is not Davis, and I would like it to be,” she says.
“Oh!” a surprised Nick replies.
Three new couples join the ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ cast in 2025
In addition to checking in with the Merrifields and the Davis family, Seeking Sister Wife Season 6 will introduce three new couples.
Reise and Billie Jean Williamson are from small-town Indiana. They’ve been married for four years and have 1-year-old twins, as well as a menagerie of animals. Now, they want to add another wife to the mix. The couple dreams of having a bigger family, but they’ve struggled with infertility. Billie Jean thinks introducing a sister wife to the mix could solve their problems. But dating as polygamists isn’t easy.
Yessel and Dani Peralta have been married for five years and have two kids of their own, plus two kids from his previous relationships. Both have demanding careers, and Yessel’s job takes him away from home for long periods of time. They’re considering adding a sister wife to help support the family when Dani is on her own with the children. But a previous attempt at polygamy nearly blew up their marriage. Will this time be any different?
Matt and Anjelica Johnston are longtime polygamists with two young children. They’ve been dating Shanay for three years, and Anjelica now considers the other woman her best friends. But lately, Shanay has been wanting more from their arrangement. Now, the trio must decide what the future holds for them.
Seeking Sister Wife premieres Monday, September 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
